The Purpose
I am BJ Jones and I have spent my life traveling the world. From the Bushman of the Kalahari to the Mosuo of the Himalayas, I have studied the world’s most remote cultures. Having the wild idea of completing a PhD in Cultural Anthropology within the Chinese education system, I fully submerged myself into isolated Asian cultures. I have spent nights dodging everything from bull elephants to a lost but very aggressive Burmese army. Finding my way around the planet, often not sharing a common language, has taught me to embrace the unknown. If you choose to tune in for an episode I can promise you will you learn something new about our fellow humans and hopefully have some laughs.
The aim of the podcast is to make cultural differences transparent through my many unique experiences and knowledge. The listener will be passenger alongside me as we both get outside of our comfort zones. Most of the show’s episodes will be recorded as I travel and encounter a variety of people and customs. Hopefully I will walk the line of providing important information as well as entertaining situations. Recording on the go will provide an ever-changing studio. The subtleties that each environment presents will be a real-time situation for both myself and the listener.
Please join me on this adventure!
