Maninagar shree swaminarayan gadi sanstha news: Urgent COVID-19 Appeal - Latest updates

In response to the pain and distress caused by the COVID-19 related social distancing and lockdown measure, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury is responding.

We aim to help our NHS heroes on the front line against the fight against the virus, as well as others impacted by its effects.

In taking the fight against the hardship that the current lockdown is having, we have established a three-pronged response.

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir’s COVID response team have been working tirelessly to get food and essentials to the front line, where they are needed most.

Since commencing operations on 31st of March 2020, we have seen excellent support from the community by way of food, essential items and monetary donations. We have been working directly with nurses, doctors teachers and others from within the Mandir community, to deliver support to:

• Guys Hospital
• St Thomas Hospital
• Northwick Park Hospital
• Whittington Hospital
• Desi Dhaba (Covid 19 Response Kitchen)
• MHA Riverview Lodge
• Knights Court Care Home
• Charlton Road Care Home
• College Road Care Home
• St Lukes Hospice
• Uxendon Manor School
• Local residents within the catchment area of the temple
• Key Worker households

Feedback from these organisations has been hugely positive, and we know our efforts are reaching directly where they are needed most. Through the generation donations from the community, we have been able to deliver, Cereal, Cereal Bars, Tinned Food, Pasta, Noodles, Hot meals (Curries, Naan Bread, Roti, Noodles, Pasta), Indian Savouries, Indian Snacks (Samosas, Dhokra), Tea, Coffee, Crisps, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit, Eggless homemade cakes, Nappies, Baby Food, Baby Wipes, PPE Products (Masks, Gloves), Hand Sanitizers, and Cleaning Products (disinfectant wipes, liquids and sprays).

SGVP Gurukul News : Food Service during Corona Lockdown

કોરોના મહામારી સમયે SGVP ગુરુકુલ અને તેના શાખા ગુરુકુલો દ્વારા ભોજન વિતરણ
ભારતમાં દિવસે દિવસે કોરાના મહામારીનો પ્રકોપ વધી રહ્યો છે અને લોકડાઉનને લીધે હજારો લોકોને જીવન નિર્વાહની સામગ્રીની મુશ્કેલીઓ ઉભી થઇ છે.
સરકારશ્રી આ પરિસ્થિતિને પહોંચી વળવા પ્રચંડ પુરુષાર્થ કરે છે ત્યારે સેવાભાવી સંસ્થાઓએ પણ આમાં મદદરુપ થવાની જરુર છે.

આ દ્રષ્ટિ ખ્યાલમાં રાખીને ગુરુવર્ય શાસ્ત્રી શ્રી માધવપ્રિયદાસજી સ્વામીની પ્રેરણા અને પુરાણી શ્રી બાલકૃષ્ણદાસજી સ્વામીના માર્ગદર્શન મુજબ જરુરિયાતમંદોને ભોજન સહાય માટે દરરોજ SGVP ગુરુકુલના સંતો મોટા પાયા પર ભોજન તૈયાર કરી રહ્યા છે, અને રાષ્ટ્રીય સેવક સંઘના ભાવિક કાર્યકર્તાઓ ભોજન વિતરણની વ્યવસ્થા સંભાળી રહ્યા છે. SGVP ગુરુકુલ છારોડીમાં રોજ બે હજાર માણસોનું ભોજન બની રહ્યુ છે.

શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ ગુરુકુલ, અમદાવાદ - મેમનગર ખાતે રોજીંદી વપરાશની કીટ બનાવીને જરૂરિયાતમંદોમાં વિતરણ કરવામાં આવે છે.
એજ રીતે SGVP શ્રી સ્વામિનારાયણ ગુરુકુલ રીબડા (રાજકોટ) ખાતે પણ સંતો મોટા પાયા પર ભોજન તૈયાર કરી બોલબાલા ટ્રસ્ટ રાજકોટના ઉત્સાહ સેવાભાવી સ્વયંસેવકોના સહયોગથી ભોજન વિતરણની વ્યવસ્થા સંભાળી રહ્યા છે.
SGVP ગુરુકુલ રીબડામાં રોજ એક હજાર માણસો માટે રસોઇ બની રહી છે. ગુરુકુલ પણ વિતરણ વ્યવસ્થામાં સહભાગી થયું છે.

આ રીતે SGVP દ્વારા કુલ 3000 લોકો માટે દૈનિક ભોજન વ્યવસ્થા ચાલું થઈ છે. આવતા દિવસોમાં જેમ જરુરિયાત વધશે તેમ તેમાં વધારો કરવામાં આવશે.
પૂજ્ય સ્વામીજીના આદેશ મુજબ આ સેવાકાર્ય આપત્કાળ પૂરો નહીં થાય ત્યાં સુધી ચાલું રહેવાનું છે.

BAPS News : COVID-19 Pandemic: Donation of 1,100 Surgical Masks to Organizations in Raleigh, NC

As countless Americans continue to practice social distancing to decrease the spread of the coronavirus, healthcare workers and emergency service providers are working tirelessly to treat those affected by COVID-19. Between April 13, 2020 – April 16, 2020, BAPS Charities donated a total of 1,100 surgical masks to four different sites where frontline workers need personal protective equipment: Duke Regional Hospital, UNC Rex Hospital, Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department, and Wake County Government
Wake County Commissioner Sig Hutchinson accepted the donation on behalf of the Wake County (North Carolina) and remarked “The masks that were donated were very helpful and so appreciated. My staff really appreciates your generosity. And I am so glad to be able to keep them safe.”
Nathan Lozinsky, Assistant Fire Chief accepted the donation on behalf of the Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department, Assistant Fire Chief Nathan Lozinsky accepted the donation and remarked, “Thank you BAPS Charities for your generous donation for N95 masks. These have been difficult to find and the masks are a welcome sight.”
BAPS Charities is grateful to its volunteers for helping to keep the community healthy. Beyond the recent donation, BAPS Charities has organized and implemented several online awareness campaigns for the community on how to stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. BAPS Devotees Participate in Online Mahapuja Ceremony to Pray During COVID-19 Pandemic, Africa

Devotees of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha from 16 countries throughout Africa participated in a special online Vedic mahapuja prayer ceremony.
The mahapuja ceremony began at 9.00 a.m. and was led by sadhus at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Nairobi, Kenya. Over 16,730 devotees from over 4,180 families in 16 countries across Africa devotionally performed the mahapuja rituals at their homes as guided by the swamis through a live webcast. The mahapuja was also performed at all 29 BAPS mandirs across Africa by the resident pujari. As per the wish of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj over 211 recitations of Shri Sahajanand Namavali were completed during the mahapuja ceremony.
At the conclusion of the mahapuja ceremony, Pujya Bhaktipriya (Kothari) Swami blessed all through a live broadcast from India. He prayed that may all be protected from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, may local and international economies and businesses return to normality as soon as possible, may all the frontline workers remain healthy and may the atmas of the deceased attain peace.
Currently, all BAPS mandirs worldwide are closed in accordance with governmental and scientific community guidelines, thus creating a void in the lives of many devotees. The online mahapuja ceremony served to provide peace of mind to and to connect all BAPS devotees and well-wishers in solidarity against the pandemic.

BAPS News : Devotees Participate in World Peace Prayers for COVID-19 Pandemic, North America

BAPS devotees across North America participated in a Vishwashanti Abhishek Pujanvidhi (Prayer for world peace) on April 18, 2020 from their homes. Devotees were led through this prayer by Swamis in their regional Shikharbadh Mandirs, over a livestream. Instructions for the Vedic prayer were narrated by these Swamis, while each devotee performed that action from their home. Devotees embraced the ancient Hindu tradition of praying for world peace, given the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.Families dressed in traditional Indian attire and gathered in their living rooms or their Ghar Mandirs (shrine-at-home). Devotees performed abhishek, the Vedic tradition of bathing a murti (sacred image) of God, to honor God and receive His blessings for a quick and safe resolution to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a conclusion to the Pujanvidhi, Swamis also led the devotees in praying for:
the souls who passed away due to the pandemic,
the recovery of all those who are infected,
the continued health and well-being of elderly and those at risk,
the well-being of frontline workers who serve the community,
the re-employment of those who have lost their jobs,
financial stability for those with businesses,
minimal disruption to students’ education,
the well-being of teachers and academic staff who engage in ‘distance-learning’,
the companies, researchers, and institutions trying to discover treatments and vaccines,
and all others impacted or affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In conclusion, Swamis also led devotees in praying that through working from home and spending time at home, families are able to grow together and live in unity and harmony.

BAPS devotees across Australia and New Zealand participated in a Maha Abhishek ceremony from their homes to pray for world peace and relief from the coronavirus pandemic for all. Devotees were led through the prayer ceremony by Swamis over a livestream. Guidance for the Vedic prayers was narrated by the Swamis, enabling devotees to perform the rituals at their homes.
Families dressed in traditional Indian attire and gathered in their living rooms or before their ghar mandir (home shrine) to participate. Family members performed the abhishek rituals, the Vedic tradition of pouring water over a murti (sacred image) of God, to honor God and receive his blessings. Swamis also led the devotees in prayers for:

the souls who have passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
the recovery of all who are or become infected,
the good health and well-being of elderly and those at risk,
the well-being of frontline and other workers who are serving the community in this crisis,
the re-employment of those who have lost their jobs,
financial stability for all businesses,
minimal disruption to students’ education,
the well-being of teachers and other staff providing distance-learning,
the companies, researchers, and institutions trying to discover treatments and vaccines,
and all others impacted or affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In conclusion, Swamis also counselled the devotees to use this time at home constructively to strengthen family bonds to live in unity and harmony.
