As predicted, the Moreno Valley City Council proceeded with the Quo Warranto, which is the removal process of Councilman David Marquez. The motion passed 3-1, with the NO VOTE coming from Mayor Ulises Cabrera, which shouldn't be a surprise.
The three councilmembers, Elena Baca-Santa Cruz, Ed Delgado, and Cheylynda Barnard proved they keep the publics best interest as one of their main priorities, meanwhile, Mayor Ulises Cabrera voted against, the best interest of the public he serves as a whole!
By Ulises Cabrera voting against the quo warranto proves he is only interested in representing his friends over voting what is rightand and best for the city!
But should we be surprised since the writing has been on the wall? Cabrera has proven on more than one occasion that he doesn't have respect for proper procedures, doing what is right for the city, and has proven how inexperienced he is! Just recently, he was censored twice over an illegal appointment and Brown Act Violation he committed with Councilman Marquez, which caused the City of Moreno Valley to get sued!
So, in conclusion there should be no surprise that Mayor Cabrera is in favor of breaking rules by him supporting Councilman Marquez! By voting against the motion is Cabrera saying that there is no precedence for a lawsuit and removal procedure, although the California Attorney General agreed with the city council by GRANTING the removal process? Or is he ignoring the Attorney General and has voted against the motion to move foward with the removal process for his own personal interests and friendship with Marquez, NO MATTER if the removal is the right thing to do and is the BEST INTERESTS as residents? The transparency of what is going on is as clear as it gets!
His council colleagues agreed to sue Marquez, alleging he missed too many meetings.
