Dexta: "After releasing a couple of vinyl releases on the label, we were inundated with people begging for some of the back catalogue to be put on wax, so essentially, we picked out four of the hottest beats from the back catalogue at the time, featuring Arkaik, Fearful, Hyroglifics, Jekyll and myself (Dexta), and dropped it as 'SO FAR - VOL 1'.. Maybe Vol.2 is due soon - what do you think?"

THROWBACK THURSDAY
Dexta: "Chris (Fearful) had sent me a few demos, mostly moody / experimental downtempo stuff that he was playing with at the time, there were about 4-5 tracks, and he wanted to drop an EP.. I took him out and got him drunk and convinced him to build some more and craft his debut album.. Probably released way ahead of it's time, but every track on here is dripping in the spirit of Fearful, and I think it's a grower, not a shower!!"

Dexta: "Fun fact: we wrote this tune about 7 years back, someone heard it on a radio show and wanted to sign / release it, asked us who we'd like to remix it, we decided Danny Scrilla would be a great fit as he was doing bits at the time, signed off the remix, and then sat on it two years before deciding they didn't want it anymore, so we bought the remix off the label and put it out on Diffrent.. It's been destroying dancefloors ever since!"

We're not technophobes.. We're humans, with feelings, emotions and - yeah we're tribal...

Adapting to online algorithms (took me about 2 mins to work out how to spell it) comes just as natural to us as putting out music that's 'on trend' ~ which you by now know is not what we're about..

That said, in real life, the Diffrent Music community and legacy is seen, heard and felt.. So for these reasons alone, we've identifed and agreed that we will make more of an effort to engage with those who are not able to pop down to Planet Wax, or bump into one another at London Bridge etc etc, and actually give a bit back to the online community...

We miss ya! We've also got a shed load of music waiting to drop, that we certainly think you'll want to hear..

So yeah, it's time to engage ~ keep em peeled sisters & brothers
