In November of 2021, after a battle with illness had taken me out of work, I dedicated time to a side project I'd been envisioning since my time at NPR in 2011. I was inspired by my involvement with Rocky Horror, and shows I'd seen like "Sleep No More," "Then She Fell," "Tony and Tina's," and later "Drunk Shakespeare." Exit the Proscenium seeks to explore performance mediums which push the boundaries of what theatre is, how we experience stories, and why these things are an integral part of the human experience.
Featuring Richard Nelson discussing the first published and produced play written specifically for Zoom, Sal Piro, discussing the origins of Shadowcasting in Rocky Horror, and the creators of Drunk Shakespeare these mini-docs are the perfect intro courses to nontraditional theatre
The Signal Awards seeks to honor and celebrate the people and content that raise the bar for podcasting.
