Visited my favorite spot for watching otters yesterday morning in Veneta, Oregon. After 6 hours of hoping and waiting, I decided to start packing up my gear, feeling like the day was a bust, when out of nowhere, as usual, this group of youngsters arrived. They put on quite a show and made my day complete and satisfying. Thanks for watching. For some reason Facebook video quality is lacking here.

The favorite thing to chew on for a Western Tanager, is bees. Here we witness one showing off his bee snagging prowess as well as others, well, just being gorgeous. I was very fortunate to get this footage at a very close range. Spent several days sitting and waiting to get some decent footage of these birds with little luck. Got a few brief shots, but not what i was really hoping for. Wasn't until i packed it in for the day late one afternoon and decided to take one last spin around the trail that I came upon quite a few less than ten feet away. They paid no attention to me as they were too focused on the swarm of food buzzing around an old hollowed out log. I was in shear heaven. Hope you enjoy

A Great Horned Owl being attacked by a group of Robins. By no means feel sorry for this Owl. It was Spring time and nests were being built, eggs were being hatched, and the Owls intentions were probably to pillage and plunder the village. Recorded at Sauvie Island near Portland.
