Before the interview I sat in the back of the room at Citrus Club Saturday where Senator Rick Scott attended a Republican women's event. He had just arrived from a Colombians for Rick Scott event in Orlando.

At the Citrus Club he took his time for almost one hour taking all kinds of questions and explaining his day to day in DC. I'll have more on that on a politics newsletter which drops every Sunday only on the Spectrum News app.

2016...I met my son's kiddo by chance, at a grocery store in the days right after the Pulse attack. I would literally drive around Orlando for hours crying because I did not want to get home. My son was away for the summer, I missed him and I did not want to go home, see his empty room and watch the news. So, in one of my really quick pit stops at a grocery store I ran into my friend and his little boy... so cute, and so funny-- he really was a welcomed distraction June of 2016 in the middle of so much heartbreak in Orlando. Seeing him at the grocery store that day was just the pick me up I needed.

Jan. 2024: Fast forward earlier this year and I ran into him and his parents at a mutual friend's party...and I couldn't believe how grown up he was!

So many tears in 8 years. Do you see it? Pulse sign reflected in the tears...8 years...I shake my head in disbelief...where does the time ago? I think of the moms and dads I've met along the way. You are so special to me. As I post this, a little bird was chirping outside my window and I went outside...and then saw a rainbow. 🌈 I DO BELIEVE IN SIGNS...do you? and so many others injured. The families impacted. I hope one day soon we will see a memorial!

NEW information re: Orlando mom arrested in Turks & Caicos Islands back in May. The office of Florida Secretary of State tells me Sec. Cord Byrd talked with Sharitta Grier again yesterday and that she has a preliminary hearing today to set dates for future proceedings. A few weeks ago Sec. Byrd met with Grier face to face in TCI.

The diplomatic efforts continue.

Senator Rick Scott also told me about three weeks ago he was in contact with Grier and even sent a team to TCI to meet with the Orlando grandma. The 45-year old is stuck in TCI until
this is resolved. She was arrested at the airport in TCI after a bag check showed some ammunition, that she forgot she had in there when she grabbed her bag from a closet in Orlando as she got ready for her trip.

Secretary Byrd says she was handcuffed to a desk.
