Join us for a special new feature, Sparks Moments, today focusing on how the Tibetan Buddhist teaching on "bardos" can help us in facing our responses to uncertainty in life's challenges.

BARDOS refers to intervals, thresholds, or interludes between important things, during which time, transition feels momentous, and opportunities for practice abound...

SPARKS MOMENTS are brief dharma reflections on things of the day, including a guided meditation practice to encounter your experience of the topic directly

NEW EPISODE
Lama Yeshe leads us through a methodical exploration of what "genuine reality" refers to in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

This approach invites us to use our powers of reasoning to connect with what is real in our own experience.

Wow, an embarassment of riches!

In conjunction with Lion's Roar Podcast episode featuring Lama Yeshe's discussion with Mariana Howerton-Restrepo on the Vajrayana practice of Chenrezig, the good folks at Buddhadharma: The Practitioner's Guide have also published this extensive interview about my experiencing encountering, practicing, and teaching the Dharma.

As much as I will miss the mini-works of art and consummate practice that are the printed journals of this exemplary Buddhist magazine, I applaud the team in bringing the in-depth, insightful, and inspiring teachings of the Buddhadharma to the web.

Kudos to everyone on the Buddhadharma and Lion's Roar team!

In this conversation with Buddhadharma’s deputy editor, Mariana Restrepo, Lama Karma Yeshe Chodron discusses the interconnectedness of her personal experience, her role as a dharma teacher and translator, and how these different facets are integrated into her dharma practice.

HAPPY SAGA DAWA DUCHEN
Honoring the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana!

This magnificent painting of the Buddha by Octavio Ocampo has to be my favorite contemporary image. I just love how it expresses all the world, human, animal, mineral, and beyond, as his very bones and sinews and connective tissues.

Visit our latest Substack newsletter for information about how to commemorate this special day and upcoming events in person in Oregon and via Zoom

I am delighted to share this fascinating forum called "Looking into Vajrayana Buddhism's Future," led by Melvin McLeod of Lion's Roar Magazine for the Spring 2024 Buddhadharma: The Practitioner's Guide, and featuring Lama Drupgyu Tenzin, Justin von Bujdoss, and myself.

The whole issue is dedicated to in-depth exploration of the Six Dharmas of Naropa, with brilliant images and opening commentary by the remarkable Ian Baker.
