Please hire a professional videographer if you want a video of your wedding! Putting a phone on a tripod at the back of the venue to film the ceremony is not gonna cut it. You need multiple camera angles and audio to be able to properly see and hear what’s happening. I know some couples may not have it in their budget to hire a videographer for the whole day so look for a videographer that can at least film your ceremony, like me! This might make some photographers mad, but it needs to be said 👀 And no, this is not all photographers. 95% of the weddings I’ve filmed over the years have had amazing photographers that were great to work with (all of the photographers that I’m following, this is you and just know that I love and appreciate you more than you’ll ever know haha). HOWEVER, there are a few photographers out there that just hate videographers for whatever reason and make it a nightmare to work with them. This goes for videographers too. Being rude and not working with the photographer is just as bad. I’ve said this before in a pervious video, but it is SO important that your photo and video team respect each other, communicate, and work well together. It will make the day run so much smoother and make it more fun.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR VENDORS ‼️ This isn’t just for photographers and videographers. This also applies to your day-of coordinators, planners, literally anyone you have with you for the whole day. How would you feel if you had to work an 8+ hour day without being able to sit down and eat? Yeah, it’s not cool so don’t do that to the people you’ve hired for your wedding day. Also please give them a table in your reception space so we can sit and eat like normal people, and so we can see what’s going on during the reception. This one is HUGE for me. Don’t put your photographers and videographers in some back room where they can’t see what’s happening or we could miss an important moment.

Personalized wedding vows! Do you love them or hate them? As a videographer, I LOVE them because they make for a more personalized video. But if you and your partner are terrified of the idea of professing your love for each other in front of hundreds of people during your ceremony, but still want to have a cute moment for the two of you, I definitely recommend private vows or write letters to each other to read at your first look if you’re having one. Is a first look right for you? It’s completely up to you and how you want to structure your day. I’m definitely team first look after having one on my wedding day because it relieved so much of my stress and anxiety by getting to see my husband before the ceremony. We still had our emotional moment of me walking down the aisle, but first looks give you time to be alone and enjoy each other’s company for few minutes in a very hectic day. Again, it’s totally up to you if you do one or not, but I highly recommend it 👌

I can’t believe this happened 😳 This happened before the ceremony and second it got on her dress, internally I was screaming “NOOOO!!!” But her amazing tribe of bridesmaids were able to get it out before it stained and clean her up. The bride handled this situation so so well and just laughed it off. This was definitely the craziest thing I caught on camera at a wedding, but I’m so glad it all ended up okay and is now a funny story the bride can tell about her wedding day. Also dad coming to the rescue with the tissue paper is everything 🥹
