No longer taboo, over 40 million Americans seek mental health yearly and the holistic and alternative medicine industry is on the rise.
"I think it's pretty clear that for a large percentage of the patient population that have either got mental health problems or addictions the status quo is simply not working and at best they're not getting better. Many people are actually getting worse due to the treatment regimes they're being forced into. We're trying to encourage a revolution in the way that mental health and addiction treatment is delivered based on psychedelic enhanced treatments." - Henri Sant-Cassia

While online shopping increased from 32.4% to 39% within the last year, did you know the cost of shipping those goods will also see a rise in emissions up to 250% by 2050?
"The shipping industry... very basic, the shipping industry runs off of the dirtiest fuel we have, heavy fuel oil and now diesel, cleaning up and still running off of sulfur diesel but all other transportation methods are converting over to decarbonized propulsion and power and the shipping industry is a little bit behind, and it's such a big industry, it's really complex so it's a tough one to solve for but that's what we're trying to solve for is how do we act as a catalyst to getting the shipping industry to decarbonize and what are the technologies, what are the first dominos that we can push over and that's what we've been working on at Switch Maritime." - Pace Ralli.

Did you know that the US contributes to 85% of the global opioids epidemic?
"I'm integrating the addiction epidemic within homelessness which is not all of it but it is a major component of it and I'm a licensed alcohol and drug counselor supervisor also a person in long term recovery so that's the lens I come at homelessness from and I recognize that homelessness is both caused by addiction and to be homeless and to cope with it... it's a logical coping mechanism so it's both a cause and effect." - Dave Marlon, Recovery Advocate and Social Activist.

"So I'm teaching a class right now called, 'Is that racist?' and I encourage all the students to think about racism in lots of different ways. One of them is, racism is solving a problem and their definition of racism is also solving separately a problem. When you understand what problem you're solving and how you're defining racism you'll understand things about yourself and also about how you want to go about it, literally combating and solving the problem of racism. When I think about the problem I'm trying to solve, when I started the problem, it took me a long time but now I have a way to articulate it which is that most people define racism in terms of contaminated hearts and minds. You think about it as something that's inside of a person. But there's not an easy way with that definition to solve the problem of rising inequality in the context of declining prejudice. Yet that's the situation we find ourselves in." - Dr. Phillip Atiba Goff
