Please remember that owning angora rabbits it’s not suitable for most people , even some rabbit owners … angoras are more than rabbits , they provide fine wool to produce clothes and other garments .. their level of maintenance and care can be very exhausting if you don’t know how to handle Angoras , to keep their wool this way is required time , patience and skills .

Angoras are Art in their own form … just look at him ! 🔥

⚠️Rabbits are NOT suitable for small CHILDREN.
Rabbits tend to be a bad choice of pet for small children because children generally find it difficult to stay quiet, calm, and gentle around rabbits. As prey animals, rabbits are alert, timid creatures that startle easily.
-They have fragile bones, especially in their backs, that require support on the belly and bottom when picked up.
-Contrary to popular belief rabbits HATE being picked up and handled .
-Rabbits may never become litter trained
- Rabbits can be DESTRUCTIVE
-Rabbits should NEVER live inside cages
-They need regular cleaning out.
-Cleaning up poo and urine and disinfecting - will your child take this responsibilty?
-They don't like noise, whether it be screaming, or children squealing with delight at their new pet, and will run off and hide. -Children soon get bored with the pet that "doesn't want to play".
-Rabbits hate being chased or roughly handled and get stressed easily. This can cause them to bite, become withdrawn or agressive, or become ill from high stress levels.
Bunnies have fragile bodies and can easily be hurt or suffer from broken bones if mishandled or dropped.
-A bunny struggling to escape from a child's arms won't realise it may hurt itself by jumping.
-A quick nip indicates the desire to be put back on the ground - a child's reflex is to scream and drop the rabbit.
-Rabbits bite, kick and scratch, even the smallest bunny can hurt your child. They are not the quiet, slow, soppy animals we see in story books; they are wild animals with the ability to bite, kick, and scratch.
-Again Rabbits HATE being picked up! They are prey animals so they like to have their feet firmly on the ground, 99% of rabbits will scratch and kick until they are put back down.
-They can easily draw blood through no fault or intention of their own.

Sadly, many rabbits have been euthanized for biting or scratching a child, when really, it was no fault of the rabbits. The rabbit was just doing what comes naturally, protecting itself. There are also plenty of rabbits in shelters and rescue groups that have been surrendered because they bit, scratched and kicked at the kids in the family.

Angoras are beautiful, but can you really take care of one of them ?

What do you know about angora rabbits?

We see many puppy-dog looking rabbits, cute and surreal …
but most people don’t know about the level of commitment and work that’s behind an angora rabbit .
#1 Rabbits are Exotics animals , they need a exotic care than in most cases is 3-4 times more expensive than a standard vet .

They are fiber animals , similar to alpacas and sheep , they produce wool that never stops growing and they Require a very high maintenance, also you need to be familiar with “wool” how to keep it free of mites , fleas and other parasites .
What about the Angora health ? Because rabbits clean themselves same like cats , they tend to ingest a lot of wool and angoras can suffer from intestinal blockage (because rabbits can’t vomit).

They need to be sheared & shaved to keep their skins healthy , prevent wool from getting matted, ingesting too much wool & to prevent overheating .
Angora wool is 6 times warmer than alpaca wool , they can feel heavy and hot quick .

Grooming : a lot of people think that angoras can be easily taken to a “ dog” groomer , but reality is that dog groomers don’t groom rabbits .
If they do they must have a very high knowledge about rabbit behavior , body language and proper ways to handle rabbits .
Yes , you will need to learn to do the grooming yourself !

Angoras are famous because they are show rabbits and the main reason of why they are bred is bc to collect their precious fine wool (that in most cases that end with the life of the rabbit ) .

Angoras are not a good choice for a “pet” if you have not idea of how to even handle a standard breed rabbit .

Also they are not suitable for small kids , houses many other pets … they need a very quiet environment.

Before adopting any kind of rabbit please do a good research , otherwise you will be very disappointed.
