Dinner And A Movie Episode 13 Live Stream
In light of COVID-19, Dinner and a Movie will be held virtually for fall 2020. To support our local restaurants, we’ve arranged for meals to be available for pick-up prior to class. Simply pick your food up, login into the zoom meeting and enjoy the film and discussion to follow. If you are not from the area, you are welcome to register for the film/discussion only.
This week’s Dinner and a Movie recipe comes in the form of a grilled chicken with salsa verde, courtesy of guitarist Trey Anastasio. “Summer’s here, and in my mind’s eye I imagine what it would be like to leave Rubber Jungle, go outside and grill,” Anastasio writes. “Wow! That would be the second most amazing thing I could imagine right now, second only to playing a summer Phish tour. Oh well, since we can’t do that, let’s grill!”
The band also points fans to this week’s charity beneficiary, The Southern Poverty Law Center, which is “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.”
When gathering for a concert is virtually impossible, musicians have to get creative with how they deliver music to the masses. So Phish, with its devoted fan-base and longtime following, is digging into the band’s archive to bring fans back to happier times. Phish is inviting everyone to join in for their “Dinner And A Movie” archival video series, a collection of past Phish shows streaming for free each week.
