So, did you catch Instagram’s update from a couple of weeks ago? They’re now supporting 3:4 aspect ratio photos, which is the natural format for most phone cameras!

What does that mean for you? Well, when you upload a 3:4 image, it’ll display exactly as you shot it—no more stretching or weird cropping to fit the frame.

Instagram mentioned this in their Creators channel: “Going forward, when you upload a 3:4 image, it’ll appear exactly as you shot it. This works for both single-photo posts and carousels.”

It’s a small change, but for those of us who care about the little details in our visuals, it’s a win. What do you think? Is this a helpful update? What size do you usually post in?

Paid ads... worth it on social media?
Short answer: Yes!

Paid ads are a great way to get in front of more people, especially if you're looking to target a specific audience. Ads allow you to reach potential customers who may not have found you otherwise.

They can help boost your brand visibility, increase website traffic, and even lead to more sales. The key is to have a clear goal, whether it's more followers, leads, or product sales. Just make sure you're targeting the right people with your ads to get the most out of your budget.

But remember, it’s not an overnight success. It can take time to find the right settings and audience to get the results you want. So be patient, test different strategies, and change settings as you need.

Bottom line: when done right, paid ads can be great.

I get questions about social through comments, messages or just in conversations with businesses or clients. So…here is one common question I get asked!

Q: What social platforms are best for my business? 🤔

A: Honestly, every business is different. It really depends on who your audience is! If you’re targeting a younger crowd, TikTok and Instagram are great places to get noticed. But if your target audience is more mature or community-focused, Facebook can still work wonders!

If you’re not sure where to start, I always say begin with Facebook and Instagram. These platforms are super versatile and give you tons of tools to check how things are performing. You can watch your results and adjust as you go!

It’s all about testing and figuring out what works best for YOU. So don’t stress, just start posting and see what clicks!

Ok, so there has been a lot of talk this week with Meta releasing new tiers to their Meta Verified.

Swipe to see the different tiers and a bit of a breakdown of the 'new' additions.

Keep in mind, this is new and currently rolling out in some countries. We only have the information that Meta has provided so far. We are going from 1 verified tier to 4. The highest one being Business Max that features.. the verified badge, impersonation protection, Meta verified support, enhanced profile, search optimization, featured account, links in reels, employee impersonation protection, customized messaging chats and account review..for a total of $349.99 USD (about $480 CND) for the first year on new subscriptions.

Now, Meta does go into some detail on these features, but….are they the most detailed…no. There are still a lot of unanswered questions.

We need answers to our questions, we need to understand how it works, and we need to determine if there are any benefits. Is it worth it? I'm definitely interested to see how it all unfolds.
