Something you MUST not forget when posting on social… Stories!!!
Stories are a powerful tool for engagement! You can post videos, take polls, ask questions or for feedback, share tips, give a behind-the-scenes look, and let your personality shine. Stories are perfect for connecting with your followers quickly and easily with just a few taps.
And here's the thing—everyone uses social media differently. Some people only watch stories and don’t scroll through their feed as much, so it’s important to show up where your followers are actively looking!

Instagram has made some changes to your profile, and it looks like even more are on the way! (I feel like I say this every new year... 🤔)

Over the past few days, you might have noticed a few changes to your profile, including some tweaks to where your name and follower count are displayed. But the big change? Your profile grid is now in a 4:5 ratio instead of the classic square. Is it a little annoying for those older square posts? Yeah, but Instagram did try to help with that. SWIPE OVER TO SEE HOW TO FIX THE PREVIEW OF YOUR POSTS. It’s not a perfect fix, but it’s a start!

Here are some other updates in the works:
* A new Meta “EDITS” app (right after CapCut was blocked in the US with TikTok- which is now back, at least temporarily).
* A tool to customize thumbnails and easily reorder your grid (could be interesting, right?)
* The ability to post to your grid and bypass your feed (not entirely sure of the purpose for this one…)
* Highlights moving to the grid with their own tab (not sure how I feel about this one—guess we’ll see!)
* A new Reels tab feed that shows reels your friends have liked or added a note to (could be helpful for staying on top of what your followers are engaging with and creating content).

Is working on your social media and showing up consistently for your followers part of your 2025 goals? The best thing you can do is plan some content time into your weekly schedule. Set aside a block of time each week to create and plan your posts! Some may prefer doing this weekly, while others might find it easier to dedicate one day to plan for the entire month. It’s a great way to take something off your plate and ensure you have content ready to go. You can even plan your stories!

You don’t need to pay for a scheduling program—Facebook Business Suite is a free tool where you can schedule posts and stories for both Facebook and Instagram.

Remember, consistency is key! You've got this!!! 💪

Three years ago today, I made the decision to turn my side business into a full-time venture! I quit my full-time job and dove right in!

Every year seems to fly by faster than the last! Over these years, I've worked with amazing new businesses, met incredible people and fellow entrepreneurs, continued to learn and grow my business, volunteered with some fantastic organizations, and learned to better balance my work and personal life—taking vacations while still running my business!

Another year in the books! It feels like each one flies by faster than the last! This year had its fair share of ups, downs, and everything in between, but I’m thankful for every moment.

As I welcome 37, I’m filled with excitement for what the year ahead holds. I’m beyond grateful for the love and support from my amazing clients, friends (old and new), and family. Truly, I wouldn’t be here without all of you.

You can now add a name or title to your reels in your drafts! This is super helpful for businesses or creators who have multiple reels saved. Just a little extra help to stay organized – which can never hurt!

One thing people tend to forget about on social…..

Stories still important!!! You can post a video, take a poll, provide tips, share behind the scenes and show your personality etc. They are great for engagement and allowing you to interact with your followers with a few taps. Also, everyone views social media differently, some people only view stories and don’t scroll through their feed much, so you want to make sure you are showing up where your followers are looking!

You know the saying 'slow and steady wins the race'? Well, this applies to many aspects of life, including social media. It's not about racing to gain the most followers or leads in a month; it's about achieving slow, steady progress that pays off in the long run.

Going viral can be exciting, but it often attracts spam followers, people who aren't genuinely interested in supporting your business, and sometimes brings along rude comments, trolls, etc.

That's not your goal! What you truly want are meaningful interactions like comments, shares, website clicks, and profile visits. Don’t get me wrong, follower growth is important, realistic growth takes time—it won't happen overnight.

Ya, going viral can give you exposure, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, it shouldn't be your primary focus. Genuine growth requires dedicated effort and patience. Keep at it, and you'll see the results! You've got this!

Social media is one of your marketing tools, not the only one. You also have a website, a Google presence, and maybe signs or flyers. Make sure you're not putting all the pressure on yourself (or your social media manager) to be the sole generator of business.

𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐄𝐈𝐑𝐒

Ok, so there has been a lot of talk this week with Meta releasing new tiers to their Meta Verified.

Swipe to see the different tiers and a bit of a breakdown of the 'new' additions.

Keep in mind, this is new and currently rolling out in some countries. We only have the information that Meta has provided so far. We are going from 1 verified tier to 4. The highest one being Business Max that features.. the verified badge, impersonation protection, Meta verified support, enhanced profile, search optimization, featured account, links in reels, employee impersonation protection, customized messaging chats and account review..for a total of $349.99 USD (about $480 CND) for the first year on new subscriptions.

Now, Meta does go into some detail on these features, but….are they the most detailed…no. There are still a lot of unanswered questions.

We need answers to our questions, we need to understand how it works, and we need to determine if there are any benefits. Is it worth it? I'm definitely interested to see how it all unfolds.

Some of you may have started to receive this new update. (I've noticed it on a couple of my clients' accounts so far!) Now, you can upload 20 images per post instead of 10!

Do you have this new feature yet? Do you think it's here to stay? Remember, not too long ago Instagram added the flipside to Instagram, and it is now leaving this month. (Personally, I don't see that as a loss.) So, do you think this update will stick? What are your thoughts on being able to post 20 photos?
