Instagram just put out a helpful guide on how each format fits into your content strategy:
✔️ Reels = reach + brand awareness (and half of IG’s time is spent watching them!)
✔️ Carousels = trust + value
✔️ Feed posts = general reach
✔️ Stories = stay top of mind

So if you’re wondering what to post… think about what you want the post to do. Simple as that.

Instagram just rolled out another update to your Reels insights!

You’ll now see Retention in your metrics—this shows you exactly where people kept watching… and where they dropped off.

Yes, the line always trends down (totally normal). BUT the flatter the slope, the more people stuck around—which means you’re doing something right.

Instagram explains it like this:

“With Retention, you’ll always see a downward slope, but the flatter the line, the more engaged your audience is. Retention shows you the moments in your Reel that keep or lose your viewers’ interest.”

Instagram is also replacing view rate with a new metric: skip rate.
Skip rate shows how many people bailed in the first 3 seconds of your Reel.
So if your skip rate is high? Your hook might need a little work.

Bottom line: You’ll now have even more insight into what’s grabbing attention—and what’s not—so you can create content that keeps your audience watching.

Instagram just announced more changes — and this time, it’s all about your metrics! You’re now getting more detailed info on your posts and Reels so you can better understand your audience and your content.

Here’s what’s new:

-See exactly which part of your Reel made people hit “like”

-Same for carousels — find out which specific image got the most love

-See where your interactions are coming from — followers or non-followers

-View your top traffic sources (Reels tab, Feed, Explore page, etc.)

-Get more audience details like age, gender, and country

-New follower metrics — see which post brought you the most new followers

Bottom line: This is another tool to help you figure out what’s working and what’s not. More info = smarter posting!

Still designing in square? Time to size up.
Use Canva? They make it super easy to resize your graphics for Instagram to 4:5—or even the new 3:4 format.

No need to start from scratch—just open your design, hit that resize button, and you’re good to go! You might need to tweak it a bit, but it’s way better than starting over.

I shared about this the other week in stories, as of July 10, public Instagram posts can now show up in Google Search across more regions—aka your content can reach way beyond just your followers. This is huge for business visibility and makes using the right keywords and hashtags more important than ever.

Why this matters:
✔️ Free exposure
✔️ A new way to be found
✔️ Gives your content a second life outside the app

Social media isn’t just about followers anymore—it’s about searchability.
Now, this feature has been around in some regions for a while, but it’s now rolling out more widely. If you recently got the notification, it just means your posts will start being indexed too!

This feature’s been around for a while, but after chatting with people, it might not be as well known as I thought!

Did you know you can tag someone in your story after you’ve already posted it?! 🤯

Just go to your story, tap the three dots “More” in the bottom right corner, and select “Add Mentions.”

OR just hit the @ mentions icon at the bottom — super easy!

Ok, so there has been a lot of talk this week with Meta releasing new tiers to their Meta Verified.

Swipe to see the different tiers and a bit of a breakdown of the 'new' additions.

Keep in mind, this is new and currently rolling out in some countries. We only have the information that Meta has provided so far. We are going from 1 verified tier to 4. The highest one being Business Max that features.. the verified badge, impersonation protection, Meta verified support, enhanced profile, search optimization, featured account, links in reels, employee impersonation protection, customized messaging chats and account review..for a total of $349.99 USD (about $480 CND) for the first year on new subscriptions.

Now, Meta does go into some detail on these features, but….are they the most detailed…no. There are still a lot of unanswered questions.

We need answers to our questions, we need to understand how it works, and we need to determine if there are any benefits. Is it worth it? I'm definitely interested to see how it all unfolds.
