It’s Friday Introductions! My name is Yvette and I’m the wedding planner of
Before I was introduced to the wedding world I went to King Career Center which is a career tech school in Anchorage to learn Radio & TV Production. I fell in love and wanted to be the next Diane Sawyer. After high school and being an intern I was offered a job at KIMO Channel 13. I went from being a teleprompter girl, to camera and became an assistant producer for the evening news. It was amazing and I was good at it especially editing. I was 19 and making news for the evening shift. Life after that took a few turns and not until I married my husband 15 years ago did I jump into the wedding world. I didn’t hire a wedding planner and did all the work with friends and family on our wedding day. I remember thinking I never want a bride to go thru what I went thru by herself and how can I help with that. I became a certified wedding planner and have been doing it as a part time for 10 years until I finally decided it was time to do it full time.
My husband introduced me to podcasts and we would hear them and that’s when I thought how awesome would it be to do one for Alaska Weddings. It has been amazing how supporting the community is even during this time. And I get the best of both worlds!
