DEAF FOREVER: Nummer 55 in den Startlöchern!
Schon seit Monaten sind die Aufnahmen fertig, und Freunde der Band springen schon lange vor Begeisterung im Dreieck: Das neue Sulphur Aeon-Album hat die ohnehin hohen Erwartungen noch einmal übertroffen, und eine große Titelstory ist die logische Folge. Andy Schulz hört schon seit Wochen kaum noch was anderes.
Alles, was Alan Averill anfasst, wird zu musikalischem Gold. Da bildet auch die neue Primordial keine Ausnahme. Inhaltlich ist Alan dagegen durchaus streitbar, und auch im Interview mit Michael Kohsiek vertritt er wieder ein paar Meinungen, die man nicht teilen muss.
Der alte Mann kann es noch genauso gut wie in seinen Jugendjahren: In mancherlei Hinsicht ist Alice Cooper sogar im Alter besser geworden, und sein neues Album darf man schon jetzt als Jahres-Highlight im Classic Rock werten. An Souveränität ist der Mann auch im Interview mit Ulf nicht zu schlagen.
Frank Albrecht mag: Brathähnchen, Almdudler, Schnitzel und Cannibal Co**se! Serviert man ihm alles zusammen, dreht er durch und fängt an, vor Glück Purzelbäume zu schlagen. Aber auch ein gutes neues Co**se-Album ohne begleitende Leckereien lässt Herrn Albrecht aktiv werden!
Im zweiten Teil unseres großen Specials präsentieren wir euch nun die hundert besten Metal- und Hardrock-Songs aller Zeiten! Zusammengestellt von ca. 30 Mitarbeitern und Mitarbeiterinnen des DF, deren Geschmäcker - wie ihr wisst - zum Teil recht unterschiedlich sind. Einige Rand-Genres mussten wir außen vor lassen, sonst wäre es ein Fass ohne Boden geworden…
OSTROGOTH gehören zu den Begründern der belgischen Metal-Szene und haben 1983 mit ihrer „Full Moon´s Eyes“-EP einen Alltime-Klassiker abgeliefert. Danach folgten drei vollständige Alben, die ebenfalls historischen Wert haben. Martin Brandt arbeitete die Geschichte der Band auf.
Dave Meniketti von Y&T hat unseren Ulf nachhaltig beeindruckt: „Der Mann ist so dermaßen nett und positiv, dass ich gar keinen Kneipenschläger-Thrash mehr hören kann!“ Sprach´s, öffnete gut gelaunt ´ne Kanne Jever - und trat dem guten Gewissen des DF, Björn Thorsten Jaschinski, hinterlistig in die Kniekehle. Techno, (aka Prototechno aka Tekkno aka Electronic Body Music) and it's vital, extreme scene obeying this style, opened the door to my first subculture experience 35 years ago (Danke, Dirk)....
Ignitioned by that I found myself in a more vision ladden scene the early 90s where I found home.. .
Thats why this genre will alway be a mandatory part of my life.
Most of you walked the Metal way, my way was different.
So, check it out, if you deal with bands like NITZER EBB DAF or Pouppée Fabrikk etc. You might like it.
Surprised by a radomly (or not, thanks Algorithmuspest) presented song by beloved Social Media, this is how it started.
In my opinion Verrottet really expands this "limited" genre (in oldschool vision and performing) in a way that got me. Verrottet links my early teenage years to my very narrow minded, elitarian BM Greisentum existence. My personal opinion.

Sól án varma, translated Sun without radiance, is a 70
minute long piece written and performed by a select few
notorious names from the Icelandic black metal
underground. Founded by T.Í. and D.G. (members of
Misþyrming, Naðra, Núll, Drottinn, etc.), prominent
personnel of the Icelandic Vánagandr elite, Sól án varma is
more of an conceptual idea rather than a band or a side
project.
Originally, Sól án varma, was commissioned as a special
one-of-a-kind show for Roadburn Festival 2018. The 70
minute piece has neither been heard before nor since this
special performance.
Having hosted Misþyrming as “Artist in Residence” at the
festival two years prior, Walter Hoeijmakers, Roadburn
director wanted the Icelandic musicians to bring a new and
compelling phenomenon to the table for the 2018 edition of
the festival. After a meeting with Walter in Iceland in 2017,
D.G. and T.Í. put together a unit of carefully selected
musicians to form what would later become the Sól án
varma concept. These members are: G.E. (Misþyrming
Naðra, Svartidauði), Á.B.Z. (Carpe Noctem , Árstíðir lífsins),
M.S. (Svartidauði, Drottinn), S.V. (Svartidauði, Drottinn) and
H.V. (Wormlust).
After a long and intensive writing and rehearsing period, the
group premiered the piece at the Roadburn Festival 2018 in
front of three-thousand fans in the 013-Venue in Tilburg.
A year after the performance, the group decided to make the
piece immortal by putting it into a properly presentable
recorded format. The group entered the studio and tracked
down most of the instrumentals over a course of five weeks.
