That’s still not all, as Failure have also gotten their hands on several previously unreleased songs, which will also be restored and included in the upcoming box set. “Listening to the b-sides and outtakes from that first year of being a band takes me right back to playing the tiny stage at Jabberjaw in Los Angeles,” explains bassist/guitarist Greg Edwards. “It’s always surprising to me how much of the expansiveness and atmosphere of the later records exist in embryonic form on those earliest stripped-down recordings.”

“These new versions have all the magic from the originals, but now, instead of looking through a hazy pane of glass, the window has been completely opened and you can hear all the elements in their full glory,” adds drummer Kellii Scott.

Failure: The First Three Album Live

Failure have announced that they will be treating fans to something truly special in July 2020. The band will be performing a trio of residences in the United States, during which they will be performing their first three albums — Comfort, Magnified, and Fantastic Planet — in full.

Their residences will take place July 9th-11th at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, July 16th-18th at The Echoplex in Los Angeles, and July 23rd-35th at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. It will be the first time that Failure has ever performed Comfort and Magnified front-to-back in a live setting.

Additionally, Failure have announced that they will be releasing Failure 1992-1996 on April 7th, which is a four-piece vinyl box set featuring the three aforementioned records. The release comes at a time with the original masters being unearthed, remastered and remixed by Ken Andrews to provide fans a new way to hear these tracks.
