Prisoners convicted of nonviolent offenses should be released and put on house arrest at least for the remainder of the pandemic. These people are at high risk of being infected with the Coronavirus. Especially, elderly prisoners who are close to their release date should released. We are hearing many stories of prisoners being put at risk. These are human beings. Being in jail does not mean that you are subhuman. Prison guards are bringing the virus with them to work.

This pandemic has highlighted a lot of problems with our government, including, our for profit prison system. Prisoners are seen as money, instead of, people. We need to fight for criminal justice and prison reform. The soul of America will be decided by how we treat those who have made mistakes.

How do you, “shelter in place,” when you do not have a home? The homeless population is the most vulnerable among us in this pandemic. Around 553,000 people in the United States are homeless, according to, a 2018 statistic by HUD. This is shameful when you consider that there are about 17 million empty homes in America.

The United States has a duty, in this time, to ensure the health and safety of all of its people. People without homes should not be forced to sleep in overcrowded shelters where they are more likely to get infected. Our current system is that designed to take care of the most vulnerable among us.

We as compassionate people must stand up and fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. We must show our government that people should come before profits. This government caters to the few rich while the many poor suffer. We should not stand for this.

Our government is suppose to be, “For the people, by the people,” and we need to hold our politicians to that. We have the power and we need to wield it on behalf of those at the bottom. Letting the vulnerable die of this disease is a choice made by our government. We must demand that either our government serves the people, or we will do it ourselves.

In this fight for the working class, it is so easy to forget about poor working white Americans. The media often portrays the poor class as mostly black, which is, an unfair characterization of the working class meant to get ratings. Although black Americans have a higher rate of poverty there are over 25 million whites living in poverty. This number is probably understated as it is based on an income of less than $25,000 a year for a family of four.

When you break it down by ethnicity the numbers are very telling. Irish American workers faced prejudice based on religion and status as workers when they started coming here in the 1800s. Irish Catholics were accused of lowering wages and were even beaten and killed by nativists.

This system discriminated against the working poor, period. We must put aside the racial distracts put forth by the mainstream media and the political establishment. We need to stop letting the establishment divide us among racial lines. We must stand together and show our power as the class that makes this country run. Without us, there is no America. Stand together in solidarity.

White supremacy cares nothing for poor working whites. It tosses them aside as worthless trash. They have been forgotten.

More to come.

White supremacy is obsessed and fascinated with the destruction of black bodies.

Capitalism profits off the destruction of black bodies.

More to come.
