I first dreamt of producing my own magazine in 3rd grade, and I'm lucky to have kept that dream alive through so many avenues, including a high school internship at Orange Coast Magazine, writing for magazines including Modern Luxury Riviera and Coast Magazine, serving as editor of Coast Kids Magazine when my kids were small, and since 2020, publishing my own magazine Tableau Magazine through my work at Kitchen Table Marketing + PR.

We originally started Tableau to tell our clients' most meaningful stories in long form, a goal which has expanded to include telling other stories that are fun, and that matter, here in OC.

Another goal for Tableau that was just as important to me as the storytelling was to work with local journalists and other writers (whether aspiring or part-time). I admire the curiosity, craft, dedication, tenacity and passion of these professionals and -- as I've said so many times before -- without local journalism, we don't have communities and we don't have a democracy. It's that important.

I'd like to thank the writers who are part of the summer issue of Tableau Magazine -- Bridget Belden, Allison Emery, Nancy Gelston Fries, Allison Hata, Anne Marie, Ashley Ryan, Amy Snider Senk and Paige Wood.

One of the things I'm most proud of is publishing Kitchen Table Marketing + PR's digital magazine, Tableau Magazine. It's a true labor of love as it's not monetized and requires a lot of work and dedication to develop each issue. In it, we have the wonderful opportunity to work with talented writers and to spotlight OC's underdogs, small businesses, and grassroots organizations. This issue, our summer edition, has all of that and more. One of my favorite stories we've published in the last four years is in this issue -- a feature compiled by Anne Marie Panoringan, it features the favorite eateries of your beloved local journalists, with a focus on little-known, hole-in-the-wall, strip mall-located and other off-the-beaten-path dining options. I'd like to thank the amazing writers who shared a bit about their fave spots with our researchers -- Allison Mitchell, Sarah Mosqueda, Matt Szabo, Gretchen Kurz, Sharon Stello, Christopher Trela, Epstein and Lily of .
