Happy first birthday to Aspen & Steel!

And what a year it has been! We have connected with young people all across oceania, had two awesome giveaways, lots of new team members & writers, some incredible articles on really pressing issues today’s youth are facing and most importantly, gained the support of all of you!

Honestly, it is CRAZY to think we launched a year ago today, and it has been such a great journey. We can’t wait to see what is next in store!

Almost a year ago, I launched Aspen & Steel and ever since it has been one hell of a ride. We have had so many incredible young people contribute to this platform, coming from all areas of Oceania, discussing so many awesome topics. I have had the absolute pleasure of working with some incredible young people from all over the world, and I love this magazine more than words can explain.

Despite how much I love it, it has been hard. I study full-time, I have a part time job & I am involved with many different university organisations, including being on the executive committee for one of them. I want to dedicate my everything to this magazine, but in all honesty, sometimes I just can’t. However, I would never dream of shutting the platform down altogether, because I treat this platform like it is my child and I would never want to do such a thing. I have a really incredible team behind A&S, and they are doing an incredible job at keeping this platform thriving.

So, with this in mind, we have decided to reformat the platform. Twice a year, in December & in July, we will release a series of articles, ranging from 10-30 articles. In between, we will continue our Sunday Shorts, to keep articles coming onto the site. We have found this more manageable for our team, and I cannot wait to see this in action!
