It’s been 10 weeks since my last Vitamin Sea. My hands and feet are swollen again, throat and body sore, and that sharp pain on my heart like a knife is stuck in it is back since Thursday. Dear - My son wanted to watch the for his birthday gift, so we saved for it, and had a great time! Despite a few moviegoers disrupting our view by using their phone flash lights during the , overall we enjoyed the 3 and a half hours of watching you give 300% in every performance. The costumes are ON 👏 POINT.

Thank you for sharing your music with others. Almost everyone inside the theatre sang along with you!

PS: Sorry I had to report 2-3 of your fans who were livestreaming on Messenger while inside the theater. I had hoped Filipino Swifties would be better than this, if they truly support their favorite artist.🤷🏻‍♀️Thankfully, the lawbreakers are in the minority, and hopefully they won’t ever do that again.

BTW, Jude and I only took pictures before and after watching the film, because that’s how it should be 😊💗

Last week, I felt really tired of living in the Philippines. We work so hard — but corrupt politicians in power are like leeches, sucking the value and joy out of our hard-earned taxes, living like they are slave drivers instead of the public servants they promised to be.

On my way to work, there was a truck a few vehicles in front of us, carrying construction equipment and several workers. Suddenly, one of the workers dropped his hard hat, which rolled down the side of the highway. Oh no! They were shouting at the driver in front to stop, but the truck kept going.

A hard hat is very expensive here, and might cost about 2 days salary of that worker. I said to my husband, “They’ll probably take that out of his pay or not allow him to work today until he buys a replacement.” The callousness of the driver for not stopping or helping his co-worker made me angry and sad. The workers scratched and shook their heads. We were still running at 40-50kph and the yellow hard hat was so far away by now.

Five minutes later — out of nowhere, two guys on a motorcycle approached the truck, and the rider was holding the yellow hard hat! I was stunned, and then I felt like I was watching a movie - the truck wasn’t slowing down, so for a few minutes the motorcycle riders were trying to catch up, and by this time everyone in that truck was trying to safely reach for the hard hat. “Ingat!”

And when the owner finally got hold of the hard hat, his co-workers cheered, and we cheered for him too! Hay salamat! They waved their thanks to the benevolent riding-in-tandem guys, and as I watched, I was crying and saying thanks to God for the miracle we witnessed.

It all happened quickly that I was only able to take a photo of the hat owner afterwards, holding on to his hard hat tightly. He did not dare to wear it again while riding in the back of that truck.

Then I remembered: THIS is who Filipinos really are. Together, We are Stronger than the corrupt and selfish who abuse us; and we know that kindness is not a weakness, but a weapon to change the world for good.

I bet everyone who saw what happened at the back of that truck, arrived at work with gratitude and joy.

I called her name out of habit before going to work this morning, and sadly realized she wasn’t coming. Still heartbroken, but moving forward. Last night the kids and I asked for forgiveness that we were away in school and work during Bumi’s last moments… Last year when something like this happened to her, I was able to revive her after 15 minutes that she was convulsing from frog toxins - I wiped her tongue and mouth with wet cloth, washed her and gave her vitamins as she was fighting the paralysis... I really thought she was a goner then, but she pulled thru… sadly yesterday, she took on a biiig toad, and I wasn’t there. She was found almost an hour later, lifeless beside the dead toad. 💔
A till the end. We are thankful for the short time she was with us, giving us joy even though she was so makulit 😅 and had lots of funny antics. You will be missed, our good girl Bumi. 🩷

Thanks be to our Heavenly Father, Who has HEARD YOUR PRAYERS! It’s not corona, and not dengue — just a modern strain of influenza. Doc did say that hopefully, it’s not leptospirosis either. After the fever left, the abdominal pain subsided too, and I have been taking medications and sleeping more than I slept last week. Natulog nga ba tayo last week, Ate and kuya ? 🤣

Ah, the things we do for love of our children, na siyang magmamana ng Bayan.

It could be my fever talking, but I am convinced now more than ever that we should stop “marketing” God’s love as “unconditional” because it’s NOT. First, there’s the condition to believe. Then, there are the commandments, and the Golden Rule: Love others as you love yourself. These conditions need to be met for one to find peace. So many young believers do not grow in their spirit and relationship with God well, because of this “false advertising.” Some shared with me that they feel confused because they were told they didn’t need to change anything, they could come as they are, etc. While all of that is true in the context of repentance and turning back to God, why hide the conditions in the fine print?

The word that best describes God’s love, and that we should use instead is — UNRELENTING. PERSEVERING until we surrender to Him. In the context of His work of Tikkun Olam / Salvation / Restoration / Shalom for YOU, He is relentless! Nothing and no one can stop Him from loving you — not even you.

My heart was having a hard time this past week, so I am trying to follow the doctor’s orders to stay away from red meat and fast food. Thankfully, my favorite delivers!!! Myah said their Korean Beef is “so good, mom!”

Finally had a day off to upload this 💗 It was difficult for me to the youngest because his learning style is different from his older siblings, and he is an extrovert. So we decided he would try public school. It was tiring, but he sure flourished! We had no idea that our happy-go-lucky little J was even top of his class.
