Si Maya ay isang dalaga na pilit bumubuo ng matatawag niyang "sarili at bagong buhay" sa kabila ng hirap ng pakikipagsapalaran sa Maynila. Ngunit isang ordinaryong araw, may dumating na misteryosong liham at gamit na may layong kumbinsihin siyang bumalik sa kaniyang pamilya. Dala na rin ng kaniyang matinding pangungulila, sisimulan niya ang paglalakbay patungo sa kanilang lumang tahanan.

Sa kaniyang pagbabalik, hindi mga sabik na mukha ang sasalubong sa kaniya. Bagkus, ang kaniyang muling pag-apak sa maruming sahig ng tahanan, na minsa'y puno ng kulay at saya, ay siyang hudyat ng kaniyang sapilitang pagharap sa masalimuot na nakaraan at kasalukuyan.
