Kassie Taylor Overton let’s try it
I believe there’s enough room for everyone to live and live well.
We should look forward to an era where those who demonstrate capacity for greater good should assume leadership of the progressive future, The Verbal Equinox.
Kassie Taylor Overton let’s try it
Two days ago, 01/09/2022, I received a Facebook message. Chris had died. I had not heard of, from, or about Chris in more than a decade. Chris died in a house fire. I called my dad, who still lives in that same neighborhood. "Well, it's a good thing, people in this neighborhood were tired of him always stealing their things." I do not fault my father. His sentiment is a reflection of the entire community.
This was difficult to digest. As a youth, wasn't I doing methamphetamines and running the same streets that Chris was running? Had I died before escaping that place would the sentiment have been, "Well, it's a good thing..."?
It's five am and I have been unable to sleep. I slid out of bed quietly so as not to disturb my wife and here I am thinking, "How do I save Chris?" Well, there are no jobs available local to the neighborhood I grew up in. Perhaps I could petition Walmart to open a small store within walking or biking distance. Well, most people out there do not have access to laundry facilities. If they are unclean, who will show to shop at their store?
How do I save Chris?? How do I save the town that made Chris? How do I save a community of people who never saved Chris? The village that raised us? How do I save myself? "People were tired of his stealing." For me it is unfathomable to trade even one precious life for all the wealth I could imagine. It is quite difficult for me to keep myself held together as I attempt to put into words how I feel to know we can be so selfish. Perhaps Chris had not realized his self-worth. Surrounded by people who did not value themselves over possessions. It seems a common sentiment in impoverished communities. When we do not have the bear minimums to live, we begin to think primitively. We harm each other for food, shelter and warmth. We value things over people. We value things more than we value ourselves. When we do not value ourselves, we cannot add value to others. The cycle is perpetual. It is perpetual unless people who are outside of the cycle take it upon themselves to intervene.
Jeff Bezos just went to space. Chris Spicer died in a house fire caused by a home-made wood burning stove he built trying to keep warm for the Winter.
To struggle is natural and entirely human. To offer to ease that burden is quite unnatural. Maybe we should learn to be a bit more unnatural.
I just wish I had known to go back home and let Chris know that, to me, his Life held value. Real value. As I reflect, I know that Chris' life had a great impact on who I am today. I only wish that he knew the same.
Perhaps the best way to create the ideal world is to first describe the ideal! What does an ideal world look like to you? Without consideration for current perceptual limitations, if you could describe the perfect life, how would that life look? Stretch your imagination. Then, share why it matters to you.
Would it not just be awesome to find by first setting the highest of goals we will begin to overlook what we once were believed humanities greatest obstacles?
Plato's Republic? Microgrids that harness moonlight from one hemisphere and power the other? Monkhood? Timelessness? Hydrogen-powered, flying automobiles? Peace/war? The sky is the limit. Can we agree on a common standard which benefits all people while maximizing happiness? Is there a right way to live? Is freedom, where two or more are involved, reliant on a concise set of rules in order to maximize freedom for all? Else does freedom exist on a sliding scale which determines some equilibrium is required? Are there differing levels of human evolution? Let's discuss the future in a way that pleases you!
Hello everyone, your favorite anthropodulist here!! My mentor says I should make a video which would appeal more to the professional community! Been busy pondering over what I would want to share! I am so very interested in so many topics. Wondering what interests everyone else!
To have struggled is to big strong.
Let me express some final thoughts on . Bear with me while we wait to get in full gear. I just have some cleaning up to do here locally before I move on to more encompassing. Let’s build up our communities, let’s build our New World!

Hey everyone, I just really want to tell everyone who is associated with this page so far that I really do appreciate you! There’s like 31 people who have liked or subscribed to the page! I am thrilled to know I really have had so many great friends all along!
So... I recorded a video a few days ago, but I was kind of reflecting on hard times and said some judgmental things. The thing is, I decided not to post it because I felt like my ego was in the way and I don’t really ever want to make this just about me. It’s about you as well. I just feel like I’m hiding something if I don’t post it. I could maybe even edit it. Maybe I could edit it hard. Any advice?
Great news! We got up on Google Podcasts! Great work everyone!
