🗣️ | After Hridoy, yet another youngster speaks up. Our youngsters aren’t just go-getters on the cricket field. They have a backbone off the field as well.

The West Indies nightmare comes to an end at Lords and unfortunately, that brings about the end of a legendary test career.
As fans of the game, all we can do is thank the great man for all the passion, grit and determination this man showed throughout his entire career.
Happy retirement, Mr Anderson 🤍
Rahul Dravid has reportedly turned out an additional bonus of INR 2.5 CR which would have elevated his bonus to a total of INR 5 CR. He stated that he only wants what the rest of the support staff is getting, which is INR 2.5 CR each.
Class personified.
Rahul Dravid, what a man 👏🏽
Thomas Müller retires.
🤍 | Jimmy Anderson strides out for his final test match. What a career!
👀 | There were rumours that Gautam Gambhir’s vision for Team India involves revamping the T20I side and getting rid of ‘seniors’ such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Following chatter like that, Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja all retired with immediate effect after the T20 World Cup win.
Was this the reason, then?
The Samba party is over now! ❌
🎉 | Congratulations, Zimbabwe! What a spirited performance against the men in blue. India may have been some big names but still had the likes of Gill, Gaikwad, Rinku, Sundar and Bishnoi but still fell short in the end.
THE END!
Adios, legend!
Present and the future. 🤝
📋 | We are a little late to the party but here is our Team of the Tournament for the T20 World Cup, 2024!
We focused on a few aspects, including not playing batsmen out of position. We did not want to flood our team with openers just because they are the top run getters because in the real world, only two openers would play. Hence, Nicholas Pooran and Andries Gous made the cut. We also wanted to appreciate Gous because he played for an associate nation and had consistent performances throughout the tournament.
Since our page is Bangladesh based, we also wanted to appreciate our own youngsters who both played with a lot of fire and truly played to win. Well done, Rishad and Sakib!
What changes would you make to this side?
👀
🎯 | Mustafizur Rahman impressed with ball for his franchise, Dambulla against Jaffna in the LPL 2024.
He picked up the crucial wickets of Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka and maintained a decent economy considering the opposition’s target was nearly 200.
✈️ | Shoriful Islam is on his way to join the Kandy Falcons in the Lanka Premier League. His team is being led by Hasaranga and features other prominent players such as Mathews and Shanaka.
🗣️ | Taskin Ahmed has addressed the elephant in the room via a social media statement.
He also thanked his fans for “constant support”.
⚠️ | Taskin Ahmed, who is generally known as one of the most disciplined and hardworking Bangladeshi cricketers, was surprisingly dropped against India. That decision raised quite a few eyebrows but now it seems as if it was more of a punishment as opposed to a tactical call.
Reliable sources such as Cricbuzz have reported that Taskin overslept, was unreachable when the team bus was leaving and ended up missing it altogether. He joined the team late and the coach had decided to bench him by then.
Quite uncharacteristic behaviour from Taskin, who was appointed as vice captain ahead of the tournament and was expected to take on more leadership duties. Hopefully, this reality check will ensure that this was a one-off incident.
Of course, there could be more to the story as well so the fans should keep an open mind.
Taskin is currently in Sri Lanka and set to feature for Colombo Strikers.

✍🏽 | 17 female players, who were part of the setup before the Taliban takeover, have asked the ICC to assist them in setting up a refugee cricket team in Australia.
Shortly after the takeover, several Afghan female players had fled to Australia as they believed they would face oppression and restrictions in Afghanistan due to the Taliban being in power.
It’s time now for them to step back into playing competitive cricket as well. No athlete should be deprived of their right to simply play their preferred sport at a competitive level.

🏆 | Glimpse of the EXCEPTIONAL numbers generated by two of the world’s greatest T20I batters, who both retired together yesterday after India’s T20 World Cup win.
🐐 | VK retires from T20I’s. EXCEPTIONAL career!
📑 | The Bangladesh Cricket Board has given the all clear to relevant players to play various franchise leagues in the next few weeks as the series against Afghanistan has been postponed.
▫️The players set to feature are:
🇱🇰 LPL: Taskin [Colombo], Hridoy and Mustafizur [both Dambulla]
🇨🇦 GT20: Shakib and Shoriful [both Missisagua], Saifuddin and Rishad [both Toronto]
🇺🇸 MLC: Shakib [Los Angeles]
✍🏽 | Rishad Hossain impressed one and all with his attacking leg-spin bowling in the World Cup. Cricket fans around the world were forced to take notice of our young leggie.
However, it is interesting to now look back on this year’s BPL where Rishad hardly featured for the high flying Comilla Victorians franchise. Coaches in the domestic circuit have long been reluctant to play leg spinners and Rishad’s case was no different.
Following his brilliant World Cup, Rishad has already earned a contract with the Toronto Nationals in the Canadian GT20 league and there’s chatter in the fraternity that suggests that he’s being thought about by other franchises as well in other leagues.
💥 | Rohit Sharma misses out on a century but not before displaying some EXCEPTIONAL hitting against a full strength Australian team. What an innings 👏🏽
✍🏽 | While the winner was perhaps expected, the lack of fighting spirit left fans bewildered following Bangladesh’s heavy defeat against India.
Rohit Sharma’s lofted drive off the very first ball of the match set the tone for the game. Even though that shot only yielded two runs and was not timed well, it just showed that India were ready to go all in from ball one.
More of the same followed as India piled on a massive total thanks to the dangerous Hardik Pandya. Bangladesh’s only bright spot was possibly Tanzim Hasan Sakib’s two wickets in three balls, dismissing Kohli and SKY.
Bangladesh’s batting was nothing short of awful. Litton showed some intent but his lack of form showed when he singled out the only fielder in the leg side in the deep with a half hearted shot. Tanzid is of course young but struggled to find any rhythm and left Bangladesh in trouble with his less than a run a ball nightmare.
Shanto and Rishad showed some eagerness to score runs but Mahmudullah’s innings left one and all confused and disappointed. It is true that the match was very difficult to win by the time he came in but that should not be an excuse to completely surrender and show no intent whatsoever to counter-attack.
The decision at the toss, the team selection, opening the bowling with two spinners, leaving out a genuine quick, wayward bowling and complete lack of hunger to win summed up Bangladesh’s day.
Disappointing.

Sergio Ramos didn't take the Bayern defeat well, and this photographer took the full brunt of his anger. 😤
Khulna Tigers head coach, Khaled Mahmud Sujon was spotted smoking during his side’s dramatic win over Fortune Barishal. While it is true that the situation of the match was stressful, surely this unprofessional act should be criticised. Let’s not forget that the entire cricketing world has access to the BPL broadcast and this will surely be circulated.

Nurul Hasan Sohan strikes again with his cheeky move! Waited for an eternity before the batter lifted up his foot for a split second! Unbelievable stuff by Sohan. What’s your take on that? 👀
Bangladesh's Shaj Haque, who lives in England, became the first Bangladeshi world champion of Cage Warriors in the Fly Weight category. He beat Sam Creasey from England on his way to the championship. The championship battle took place in London on New Year's eve. Nicknamed 'Superman', Shaj is also the head coach of a physical fitness centre named ACE MMA in South Shields, England.
