The most popular origin story states the cocktail was created by Carlos “Danny” Herrera in 1938. He dreamed up this delicious staple for a showgirl named Marjorie King, who would only drink Tequila, so he mixed it with lime juice and salt.

Recipe Monday is highlighting the classic Daiquiri 🍹
This cocktail gets its name from the place it was created, Daiquiri, Cuba! It was invited around 1898 by Jennings Cox, who was an engineer.
In the early 1900’s the drink received a “face lift” of sorts, with the frozen version.

It’s Recipe Monday! 🍻
This week we are highlighting a staple on many menus, the Old Fashioned 🥃

The Old Fashioned emerged in the early 1800’s, at first the name was used to reference all cocktails, as sort of a style of mixology. There is controversy about whether or not it was created in Louisville, KY or in New York City. Regardless of the origin, Louisville named the beverage it’s official drink.

Once again, it’s recipe Monday! The featured drink this week is the Moscow Mule.

This simple yet refreshing drink came to life in 1941, when Sophie Berezinski ventured away from her home in Russia all the way to the United States, seeking to sell her unique copper mugs.
She would go bar to bar, and restaurant to restaurant trying to sell the mugs. But fate would have it that she stumbled into the C**k ‘n’ Bull pub. Where the owner, Jack Morgan, was also struggling to sell his ginger beer, and John Martin had difficulty convincing Americans to drink vodka. From there, the trio spent hours conversing and testing to end up with the Moscow Mule with its signature copper mug.

It’s recipe Monday, and this weeks spotlight drink is a Negroni! 🍻

An excellent Negroni is the epitome of sophistication and simplicity, and was created as an aperitif. The sharpness of the Campari can be countered by the aromatic sweet vermouth, and the gin comes through to give this classic drink depth. It has only really gained popularity in the last few years and is now frequently found on the menus of most bars.
