As you boys and girls have all been super good this year here's an early Christmas present for you. The January 2025 issue of the Box River News is here! Just like the Pacific atoll of Christmas Island, New Year always comes to the BRN before the rest of the world. Go figure.

Ooo, Christmas is officially around the corner! Here's an early present, just for you!
The December BRN, 48 pages of treats and goodies, no assembly required, doesn't need feeding or walks, doesn't come wrapped in plastic packaging and best of all, doesn't need batteries.

October! The month permanently at odds with itself after being named as the eighth month of the year only for Julius Caesar to ruin it all by moving January and February to the front of the calendar to make it the tenth month instead. Those pesky latin so-and-so's, couldn't leave anything alone, could they?
Anyway, the October BRN this month is an absolute monster of B-movie proportions, weighing in at a colossal 52 pages of news, articles, events and opinions. It's stomping out for delivery towards the end of this week, but if you are the litigious sort, please don't sue us for damage incurred to your letterboxes during the delivering of this weighty beast - instead grab the online version, weighing just a few mere electrons, here: https://www.boxfordsuffolk.com/box-river-news/2024/October

We're already at the tail-end of what has quite possibly felt like the shortest holiday season ever. Let's hope you were able to top up the vitamin D in those few blink-and-you'll-miss-them sunny weeks! But don't fear the return to normality (both weather and routine-wise) - there is an absolutely colossal amount of events in the Box River Benefice coming up to distract you. From the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the local postal service to racing snails, from live music to historical talks - if it's not in the BRN this month - it's probably not even an event! BRN mega-fans can whizz over to https://www.boxfordsuffolk.com/box-river-news/2024/September for a quick fix, but it should be flitting through letterboxes from Sunday onwards!

Trying to ignore the fact that there's a general election about to happen at the moment is nigh-on impossible, BUT it does mean that the BRN's favourite event of 'Dogs at Polling Stations' is about to occur! Hooray! If you're the much more sensible type who would rather focus on the human aspect of the election, you'll find profiles of all the main candidates inside the pages of this month's magazine to help you decide who to give your vote to. Also in this issue: updates from Natural Boxford on the local wildlife explosion, all the photos from the beautiful gardens taking part in the recent Open Gardens events in the benefice, The Butcher's Wife reveals the inner secrets from 20 years of living with The Butcher, and we have the fascinating story of local business Rules Coaches from historian Roger Loose. Exercise your civic right to stay in the know by heading on over to https://www.boxfordsuffolk.com/box-river-news/2024/July to download your copy, or let the news come to your letterbox from this weekend onwards!
