Have you ever wondered how working alongside a robotic co-worker would be? Sandra Mattsson at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden has, extensively. With a Ph.D. in production systems and a bachelor's in psychology, she is uniquely positioned to think about this and how we should design this interaction between humans and machines.

On top of this, Sandra is by far one of the most fun and engaging people to talk to about robots and automation. David and I had a blast when we spoke. If you are curious about how we can better prepare for collaborating with robots, this is the episode for you!

In this episode, we discuss the benefits for service designers to work in manufacturing. And why we are being welcomed with open arms into the manufacturing space. We also talk about some of the challenges that arise when introducing the service design toolkit and mindset in this context.

Robots are now in every aspect of our daily lives, from helping in nursing homes to steering our cars and working the factory floor. Once human to do’s, now packaged into services. Peering into and sometimes beyond the hype of Industry 5.0, The Internet of Things, and AI, two service designers, Jacob and David, talk to the people designing how our world will work in and after the automation revolution.
