Janelle Wilke is a newcomer to Dungeons and Dragons drawn in by a love for storytelling. Her debut in Break, Battle & Roll marks her first true foray into D&D as a player, rather than just a listener. For Janelle, this project isn’t just about gaming; it’s pursuing a passion project with friends and crafting memories she can cherish for the rest of her life.

Her character Flowerkraut represents a personal antidote to the fears that come with aging. In Flowerkraut, she can appreciate that shameless self-acceptance and joy can be found at any stage of life. There are occasionally some interesting challenges that come with playing Flowerkraut. For example, she notes that Flowerkraut has higher charisma and deception stats than she’s personally equipped with. However, she was amused to find that the “being gross” traits come rather easily!

If given the chance to explore another character from the podcast, Janelle would gravitate towards Sherman, drawn to his sunny nature, naivety and resilience in the face of adversity. Her hope for the audience is simple: laughter, inspiration, and a sense of connection with the characters and their adventures.

Dustin Bleschmidt's journey into the realm of Dungeons and Dragons wasn't a typical one. Introduced to the game during the time of 4th edition, it wasn't until 5th edition that he truly delved in. A friendship with Aaron, the host of a weekly game, led Dustin to embark on a quest that would forge companionship for years to come. For nearly a decade now, he has been rolling dice and navigating realms with his fellow adventurers. In 2020, an opportunity arose that would blend Dustin's love for creativity with his passion for D & D. When Aaron and Chad extended an invite to be part of a new project, Dustin seized it eagerly. The idea of a creative outlet among the challenges of the pandemic was irresistible, and thus, Sherman Gepherd was born.

Bringing Sherman to life offered its own set of challenges. Known for his colorful language (especially on holiday episodes), Dustin found himself treading a fine line with Sherman, a character defined by his purity and goodness. Yet, he welcomed this challenge, channeling Sherman's innate kindness and restraint into his portrayal. What resonates most with Dustin about Sherman is the character's embodiment of redemption and second chances. Much like a misunderstood dog finding a loving home, Sherman represents the capacity for goodness and growth in all beings. Dustin sees parts of himself in Sherman's pledge to kindness above all else, a trait that he strives to embody in his own life.

After listening to the podcast, Dustin feels that audiences will be inspired to embark on their own D & D adventures. The blend of laughter and heartfelt moments woven throughout the episodes is sure to ignite the imagination of listeners, leaving them eager to roll the dice themselves. This podcast is tailor-made for those who appreciate laughter and emotional depth in equal measure. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer to the world of tabletop gaming, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Aaron Rollins, a veteran of the RPG scene for 3 decades, is the mastermind behind the adventures of . His journey into the realm of D&D began in 8th grade when a friend introduced him to the world of dice rolling and storytelling. From those early days of crafting homemade systems, Aaron's passion for TTRPGs has only deepened, leading him to explore various gaming systems. From 13 years old, Aaron embraced the role of Dungeon Master, taking on the knowledge and management skills it required. With a background in theater and a natural flair for public speaking, Aaron found himself at home in the role of storyteller.

What sets Aaron apart from other DMs is his vision for preserving memories created around the gaming table. Recognizing the fleeting nature of these shared experiences, Aaron sought to immortalize them by recording their adventures into a live play podcast. In addition, Aaron aims to inspire others to embark on their own storytelling adventure. As the creator of the story, there is a challenge of steering the narrative while being open to the unpredictable choices of the players. With each episode, he guides the players while navigating the crazy territories of improvisation, ensuring that the story unfolds in a way to captivate both players and listeners alike.

Like the Barkeep, Aaron masterfully injects the drama, withholding secrets and revelations until the perfect moment arises. It's a unique blend of character and creator. And although Aaron's role is that of the Dungeon Master, should he ever hand over the reins of the storyteller, he admits he’d love to play Flowerkraut, relishing the chance to embrace her eccentricities and gross quirks.
