The STOP child abuse ThrOugh effective training and augmented reality consortium of project partners finally met in Valladolid, Spain 🇪🇸 hosted by the Observal of the ‼

It has been a 2️⃣ days meeting, during which representatives from Cypriot, Croatian, Irish, Italian and Spanish involved organizations participated whether face-to-face or online, to make a balance of the past implemented activities and coordinate the future last steps of this ambitious STOP project ✋🤝💪

The multiplier events of the Erasmus + project STOP were held as part of a two-day conference in Zagreb, Croatia on November 22 and 24, 2021 in the hybrid form.

Both multiplier events were attended in live and online by more than 100 participants from the social, educational and non-governmental sectors. Young members of the local community, students of various faculties also were part of the event and were introduced to the results of the STOP project and the work of the Parents' Association in the area of child s*xual abuse prevention.

Asociacion Deses-3, the Spanish youth organization member of the consortium of the STOP ✋ project, celebrated its multiplier event yesterday, in the presence of local educators, parents and youngsters 👥.

An occasion for the association to spread the project results 🗣, mainly "The STOP learning material and augmented reality game", and by that, providing the audience with tools to fight and prevent child abuse.

High interest received the STOP AR game 🤳, which had been also tested from the participants to the event ‼

⛅️Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events in a child’s life that can have negative and lasting effects on health and well-being.

☁️These experiences occur before the age of 18 and are remembered by that child as an adult.

🌧Such traumatic events may include: psychological, emotional, physical, or s*xual abuse; violence against mother; or living with household members who were substance abusers, mentally ill, suicidal, criminal or imprisoned.

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SEXTING?🤳📲

As the same term suggests, s*xting is a compound word between s*x and texting and refers to the voluntary exchange of s*xual content through digital devices and applications or social networks that allow the sending of messages and images by means of instantaneous chats. BUT it can be a negative practice if some of those involved exceed the limit and take actions that harm those involved. This is consider bad s*xting.

HOW CAN WE AVOID THAT POSSITIVE SEXTING👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 HURT US😈😔?

📱Before s*xting, the first thing to do is think hard about who we are doing it with and to know the consequences.
📱To have a trusting relationship
📱Both parties shares explicit content with the consent of the other.
📱To use an application that does not require a telephone number and that encodes images.
📱To be able to cancel pictures and messages that include s*xual content or to use applications that eliminate digital content after sharing
📱To send explicit content without our face, tattoos, scars ... It makes us vulnerable because we can be easily recognized.

🙌 WHAT IS INAPPROPIATE TOUCHING? 🙌

One of the main actions in relation to s*xual abuse is inappropriate touching. Inappropriate or unwanted touches are those touches that can make a child feel uncomfortable; they usually pertain a s*xual context, for example looking or touching children’s private parts or asking them to look or touch someone else’s private parts. It is the inappropriate exposure or subjecting of a child to s*xual contact, activity or behaviour. These touches might not hurt/be safe, but they are unwanted and make you feel uncomfortable.

WHAT CHILDREN AND YOUTH NEED TO KNOW:
👉It is not okay for someone to touch your private parts.
👉It is not okay for someone to ask to see your private parts.
👉It is not okay for someone to show you their private parts.
👉It is not okay for someone to touch their private parts while you are present.
It is not okay for someone to show you pictures or videos of someone else’s private parts.
👉It is not okay for someone to ask you to take your clothes off.
