Half marathon #6!!!

Proud of today’s effort even when the headwinds started to hit at mile 9 and didn’t stop 😅 The on ramp at the very end about took me out also 😵‍💫😂

So thankful for this sport and that I get to do this 🩵 #7 coming up this January and then we’ll see what’s next 👀

Thankful for family, friendship, sobriety, running, and good food 🩵 It was a day filled with so much joy ✨

This holiday used to look very different before recovery, but I’m thankful for restoration and growth. So much has changed, but I wouldn’t have the gratitude I have now had it not been for the journey. The holidays can be hard for those in recovery, but I can say it truly gets better. One day at a time, one hour, one minute. We do recover 🙌

Thankful for all of y’all and what the future brings! Happy Thanksgiving 🩵

I’ll always be thankful for the day you asked me on a date for ice cream 🍨 We’ve navigated a lot together - my sobriety, buying our first home, and so many other adventures ✨

A week ago I was running a one mile loop at Runningman 🏃‍♀️✨

So thankful for this event & the running community 🩵

I met so many incredible people, laughed a ton, and celebrated a sport that’s transformed my life 👏 I hope to be back next year!

Runningman 2024, you were amazing ✨

I’m not going to lie and say I wasn’t nervous to go to this event solo, but the running community never ceases to amaze me 🩵 I met so many incredible people, ran miles with strangers (now friends), and celebrated a sport that brings so many together!

Choosing to live in addiction or to live in recovery are two difficult choices, but I can tell you that you’ll gain far more in recovery 🩵

I have freedom that I never knew was possible and I’m chasing dreams that I would’ve put boundaries on in the past.

If you are struggling with something and feel like giving it up will be the worst thing in the world, I challenge you to ask yourself this - “But what could go right??”

I lost some things when I gave up alcohol, but I have gained back the me that I kept giving away when I drank. Choose the hard where you choose yourself 🩵 I promise you’re worth it 👏👏👏

Come run 10 miles with me‼️Yesterday's run was a fun one with 100% humidity 😅 but I felt like I fueled properly the whole time and having the running belt with water bottles was a game changerI had @tailwindnutrition in each of the bottles and brought 3 @guenergylabs ⛽️ I took one about 30 minutes in and a second one about an hour in. I don't think I ever want to run without having hydration on hand ever again! I liked this belt, but did have to adjust it throughout the run. I would like to try a handheld one or a belt that only has one water bottle instead of 2! Either way, I learned a lot on this run and also realized this is the longest solo run l've ever done 😳 I've trained for half marathons up to about 8-9 miles by myself or with someone, but never made it this far on a solo run! It was one of those runs where Ididn't want to stop and could've kept going 🩵That was an incredible feeling ✨ Long distance running will never not amaze me and I'm so thankful for what my body is capable of #runningmotivation #runningcommunity #runningjourney #distancerunning #runner #girlswhorun #womenwhorun #longrunday #marathontraining

*VULNERABILITY WARNING*** If you were to ask me to name a time when someone said something negative about my size or appearance, I can remember several moments immediately. Those were moments where I started to question how I look and what society expects of a woman's body. They built up over time and led me to only see my body in a distorted way. I fought this mental battle for years and still have moments of food anxiety or frustration around trying on clothes. I remember stepping on the scale and wondering when that number would be "good enough." Pinching skin and thinking "If only this wasn’t there.” Running became a safe place for me to quiet those thoughts and focus on putting one foot in front of the other. I have an addictive personality naturally and have to be carerul when it comes to my training. Running has been great at teaching me delayed gratification and that an "all or nothing" mentality is dangerous for me and won't bring the results I'm working towards. I've learned the power of giving myself grace. But l've also seen that my body isn't meant to sit still and look pretty. It is STRONG and capable of so many things 🩵Our body is a temple and we are supposed to treat it that way. Give yourself grace and know you can do hard things 💪 Do something today that makes you feel good ✨ And know there is so much more to you than just the image in the mirror or some off-hand comment made in the past 🤍 #runningcommunity #runningmotivation #runningjourney #nationaleatingdisorderawarenessweek #NEDAwareness #bodypositivity #womenwhorun #girlswhorun

Gator Chase 10K was beautiful 🤩 Sunny and 65 always makes for a great race day ☀️ I love running in local races and meeting more of the running community! I was looking at the calendar and realized I've ran a race EVERY weekend the month of February 😳 A 15K, two 5K's, and a 10K! While I'm not officially in a training block, these local races have helped me add miles each week and get used to more time on my feet! Come summer, there won't be too many local races due to the heat and humidity we get down here in Lower Alabama, so taking advantage of this fun season now!
