Project Keystone – Microsoft’s cloud-gaming/streaming console, was temporarily put on hold.

Its initial cost was estimated around $99, but the boss of Xbox, Phill Spencer, said that they weren’t able to release the appliance at that price point. In other words, a $99 console wouldn’t be a viable gaming options, even for cloud-gaming. Neither for players nor the shareholders.

Taking into consideration that Xbox Series S is an affordable option for gamers, it’s understandable that Microsoft doesn’t want to release another console that competes with its other product.

We respect the idea of making gaming as accessible as possible. One may hold grudges against Microsoft, but respect is to be paid where it’s due. Being able to enjoy modern AAAs on a $100 console will have much greater reach than doing the same on a $500 one. BUT, firstly – there are even cheaper options, and secondly – they called it off for now.

Apple-harvesting drones? You got it!

From photographers’ toolkit, through wide military and construction application, eventually leading to the agriculture – drones no longer are a mere kids’ toys, they’ve come a long way.

Tevel Aerobotics Technologies created appliances that may soon become a desired tool for every orchard keeper. With the use of onboard cameras and artificial intelligence, Tevel drones are capable of, apart from picking fruit, differentiating tree-species and telling whether the fruit is ripe or not.

Thanks to the camera system and artificial intelligence, drones can also perform quality control on the harvested crops, in real time. One can supply the algorithm with the certain parameters like the shape, weight and color, so that only fully-grown fruit are picked.

Orchard keeping does not limit to the harvesting. Before harvests, one needs to sow, water and ferilize, among others. But if the invention of Tevel does really well with gathering, the rest of the process should be a bowl of cherries.

McDonald’s is said to release a limited ergonomic chair designed with fastfood-loving-gamers in mind.

Being a part of the new sandwich’s rollout, chair is equipped with various holders for your food, including a hotbox and napkin trays. This, together with being made out of proof-stain leather, seems to be the dream of every sweatlord out there.

McCrispy Ultimate Gaming Chair will not be for sale, though. Only one has been made so far, and it’s said to be the prize of upcoming McDonald’s contest.

We may have been silent for a while, this is correct, but it does not mean that we have not been working. As a startup company with limited resources in terms of the workforce and financing, we decided that certain aspects of our platform need to be prioritized over social media presence; namely, its core - the infrastructure and performance.

In the past several months, we implemented many upgrades to render our website and the streaming service we offer more stable. We looked back at the mistakes we made, we took lessons and came up with solutions. Of course, we expect some hiccups on the way ahead, but who would not?

Speaking of the streaming service we offer, we want to inform you that source code of our RTMP server has gone public (https://lnkd.in/dwutd3St). As avid users and beneficiaries of open source software, we thought that we ourselves should contribute to the idea too. Just in case anyone else dreams of having a streaming platform on their own rules. 😉

We also would like to announce that Elocast now participates in OVHcloud US Startup Program. Thanks to the aid we have received from OVHcloud, we can develop our platform further with a greater peace of mind. Without having to worry that much about the hosting and its costs, potential chokes in regards to the bandwidth and increasing traffic, we now can focus on improving other aspects of our platform. Thank you.
