Dan Hayward AKA DJHRH is the mind behind the huge Soul Jazz Sound System coming live and direct out of Canberra ACT who are coming to Melbourne with their Sound System to play at Forward Ever: An Inter-State Celebration Of Sound System Culture - Croxton - Sat 22nd April 2023

Founded in 2017 the Soul Jazz crew play all styles of Bass Music with a heavy focus on Reggae, Dub, Garage, Grime, Dubstep, Breaks and Drum N Bass and have hosted a whole heap of mad line ups in Canberra including internationals such as Alpha Steppa (UK), Youngsta (UK), Compa(UK), Barely Legal (UK), Kahn & Neek AKA Gorgon Sound (UK) & the incredible Sister Nancy (JA).

I have had the privilege of travelling up to Canberra to play on the Soul Jazz Sound System a couple of times and it is great to see how far they have come from their first set of boxes to the monster stack that they will be bringing down to Melbourne to mash up The Croxton Bandroom on Saturday 22nd April 2023. This is a serious stack of speakers with plenty of power behind it and I can attest to it sounding clean, clear & properly heavyweight.

🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Some unfortunate, but also some amazing news! Unfortunately due to the COVID lockdown in WA which was announced last night. SHOCKONE will not be able to travel to the ACT for our DNB Sunday’s event. We have exhausted all options to try make it work, but he won’t be able to leave the state 😔

In light of that news, our good friend Blanke will be replacing him for a special AEON:MODE set for DNB Sunday’s! Playing a range of Drum & Bass tunes (including lots of Shockone records) This has now turned into a very epic long weekend event!
