MASSIVE NEW EPISODE ONLINE NOW! LINK IN COMMENTS!

In the thrilling FINAL EPISODE of Careless Whispod in this format of the show, Gary and Jeremy decided to play a bunch of music that they never got onto the show and created a gigantic episode: Up Your Nose With A Rubber Hose! A.K.A. Up Your Camel Toe With A Rubber Hose! A.K.A. Evan's Essence A.K.A. Tropical Hot August Night Dog Night.

As the lads reminisce about the good times they've had playing music for their small audience (they actually prefer terms like "cult" or "underground"), they talk about and play music by:
Little River Band, Jackson Browne, Van Halen, Cinderella, Yukihiro Takahashi, John Cale, Robert Wyatt, Todd Rundgren, King Crimson, Camel - Band , The Contortions, Captain Beefheart, Pere Ubu, Fat White Family, The Pop Group, UK SUBS, Little Beaver, The Spinners, Billy Joel, and Electric Light Orchestra.

It's an epically long episode so kudos to those of you that make it through in one sitting. And never fear, we'll be back. Bigger and better than ever before! Well, it'll probably the same quality so not better. And they'll probably be shorter episodes so not actually bigger... Never mind. Just keep an eye out, ok?

The intrepid hosts of Careless Whispod have lost the plot in this episode but there are a lot of laughs in their travels along the strange musical path they lead the listeners down.

Gary and Jeremy talk about moons, pizza pies, heavy sheta, Gene Moss and Fred Rice brainstorming, Rage, retro, The Lemon Twigs, city pop, and much more.

If you enjoy this episode, share if you dare!

A music podcast that is for retro-s*xuals. What we lack in research we make up for in heart.

OH MY GOD, BECKY... LOOK AT THAT NEW EPISODE. IT IS SO BIG!

Do you like big melodic hooks and you cannot lie? Then this might be the podcast episode for you. Other podcasts? Well, them punks like to hit it and quit it. We'd rather stay and play.... some Burt Bacharach.

In this episode, Gary and Jeremy get nerdy and talk about pop key changes and why they tickle the brain, Jaco Pastorius, short and to the point rock songs, the power of power pop, Jez outing himself yet again and so much more.

This episode is a doozy so feel free to share it with any sonic explorers you may know.

Featuring music by Sandie Shaw, Marianne Faithfull, Joni Mitchell, Street Sweeper, Thin Lizzy, The # 1s, The Only Ones, The Real Kids, Misfits and ELVIS PRESLEY.

NEW EPISODE SCHEDULED TO HAVE DROPPED THIS MORNING! HEAD TO THE LINK IN THE BIO TO LISTEN!

Here's hoping the show dropped when it was supposed to! Gary is in Japan right now and usually handles all of this stuff. Click on " Listen on Spotify" in our Linktree to find this episode.

This episode of Careless Whispod will move you to tears and that's just from the inclusion of the song H***y by Mousse T! Gary and Jeremy take this opportunity to explore some of the sadder side of music.

The lads talk about music that moves us, Jeremy outing himself, traditional American folk music, Waylon and Willie and the boys, the underappreciated musical genius of Mousse T, the Brown Carpet Podcast, and much more.

If this episode overwhelms you with emotion and feelings of sadness, reach out and talk to someone. When you do, be sure to share this episode with them because we could use the listens.

From Duane Eddy with some surf rock in the 50s to crooners singing about how far away they were from Tulsa to whatever the hell Rockin' Sidney and his Toot Toot is, it's yet another wild Whispod playlist with plenty of music talk in between tracks.

In this episode, Gary and Jeremy talk about the sound of sax, being old, the problems with music nowadays, crooners, serial killer couples, Discover Weekly, zydeco, psychedelic wedding music from Thailand and so much more.

Share it around with the music nerds in your life!

YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS NEW EPISODE COMING! LINK IN THE COMMENTS AND BIO!

In this brand spanking new episode of Careless Whispod (tune in to see if there was any actual spanking), Gary and Jeremy take turns choosing songs to make perhaps one of the nerdiest playlists they've ever concocted.

During the episode, they talk about Rob Thomas' startling predictions of the future, not the Mushroomhead, Gary's guest appearance on The Creepy Crap Podcast, the gong lord, Drop Jive, Habbo Hotel, what painful nerds they are, Thomas Dolby being blinded by Bruce Springsteen, which corn chips are better, and much more.

I'd tell you to stick around for the Easter egg at the end but then that would negate the title "Easter egg" so I won't.

FEATURING MUSIC BY UNSANE, Fantômas, Skyhooks, Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Show, XTC, Adam Ant, They Might Be Giants, Devo, Thomas Dolby, and Daryl Hall and John Oates

NEW EPISODE ONLINE NOW! LINK IN COMMENTS AND BIO!

You may notice Gary and Jez talk a bit about the Careless Whispbro episode here. That's because our episodes have been released out of sequence and this one in particular was recorded directly after Whispbro was recorded.

It has a bit more of a relaxed energy than our bro-down episode and the direction the playlist goes is a bit stranger than straight ahead dude rock. Your intrepid hosts talk about formative music from their teen/Uni years, the sardonic world of Type O Negative, Drum Media, The Three Amigos, cubist reggae, jazz bass, the melding of genres, Gary gets political and tells an actual joke, and so much more.

Use this podcast as your illicit mixtape and share it with the like minded music appreciators in your life.

YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE FOR THE (SCH)LONGEST TIME! LINK IN THE COMMENTS AND BIO

In order to celebrate the release of his first song in 17 years (and apparently the first one he has written in 30), we have recorded an entire episode dedicated to Sir Lord Archduke Regent Doctor Professor, the Honourable Billy Joel.

Gary and Jeremy pour out their love for the BJ himself with talk of their emotional connections with his music and the address those who have poo pooed Sir Joel in the past in the hopes that this episode might change some minds. Not only that but Gary reveals to Jeremy a parody song of The Longest Time that he wrote all the way back in 2018.

After a while though, the talk takes a back seat to the music. A lot of the Beej's discography is covered here with a lot of hits and a couple of deeper cuts. So get ready to say goodbye to Hollywood because you're moving out with your uptown girl like you've wanted to for the longest time because there has been some careless talk about who started the fire... I forgot what I was actually talking about... Never mind, just enjoy!

NEW EPISODE WITH SPECIAL GUEST THOR HARRIS! LINK IN THE COMMENTS!

Our special guest introducer on this episode is the one and only Thor Harris. You may know him from the band Swans, or his own project Thor & Friends, or from his work with Bill Callahan, or from another of his musical projects. Thor leads us into the episode with talk of musical freedom, experimentation, Satan and more.

Then Gary and Jeremy take you down a path that winds through all manner of musical genres. They talk about one of Jeremy's favourite movies, blaxploitation films, Cowboy Bebop, JG Thirlwell and foetal variations, covers that are better than the originals, and a whole lot more.

Boo! Oh sorry, I didn't mean to scare you there... OR DID I? Now, boys and GHOULS... uh, my bad, that should have been girls. Boys and girls not boys and ghouls. And non-binary people. Look, this intro has really gotten away from me. Let me start again. Now, boys and ghouls... damn it! I'll just keep going. This episode isn't just SPOOKY but it's downright SPOOPY! Gary and Jeremy play some creepy cuts and terrifying tracks in honour of Halloween.

The lads talk about how they come up with the themes for their episodes, a song that features Gary's pronunciation of Amanda Raue's name, Screamin' Jay Hawkins freaking out stuffy white folks, Bowie's spoopy eyes and codpiece, Batman movies, forcing the pod, they come up with their Garbage Pail Kids-esque nicknames, and so much more.

Subscribe to our petrifying Patreon, give our episodes a spoopy share, give us a lurching like on our Socials, and just keep telling yourself: It's only a pod, it's only a pod, it's only a pod.... MUAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahem, sorry about that. I was remembering a Garfield comic strip I read in the paper the other day and it just made me laugh. There was a lasagna shortage on a Monday... My retelling really won't do it justice, you'll just have to read it for yourselves. ENJOY!

Featuring music by Rob Zombie, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Warren Zevon, KISS, David Bowie, Rick James, Prince, Bat, Danzig, Dusty Springfield, and Andrew Gold.

EXCESSIVE NEW EPISODE IS OUT NOW!

Link in comments and bio.

It's not long until Gary and Jeremy strike upon the theme of this episode: excess, punk, drugs, death... All of the fun things you wanna hear about when unwinding to a podcast. In this edition of Careless Whispod, the lads explore musical candles that burned brightly and were snuffed out much too soon often due to the lifestyle of excess that accompanied the music they produced.

There is talk of the theories behind Johnny Thunders' death, having the blues and the topical creams that can be used to treat them, Lemmy's favourite Motorhead album, The Young Ones, Tainicus, hide and seek with Billy, Dalai Lyle, outlaws, and much more.

If you can't subscribe on Patreon, chuck us a like, a 5 star rating, share with your music nerd friends, anything like that helps the pod grow!

Features music by: Jay Reatard, Johnny Thunders, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Official Motörhead, Cliff Richard with The Young Ones, Poison Idea, GG Allin, Waylon Jennings, and Mark Lanegan

BRAND SPANKING NEW EPISODE ONLINE NOW FOR YOU DIRTY BIRDS!

Link in our bio and in the comments.

In this massive episode of Careless Whispod, your intrepid hosts take their sonic explorations into the realms of jazz, psychobilly, bluegrass and more. It's a winding musical path worth traversing for the tunes you'll hear along the way.

Gary and Jeremy take this opportunity to shout out their Patreon subscribers and then they get to talking about how they go record shopping, yazz, tromboners, records versus digital, they get Pavlov and Chekhov mixed up with each other, there is talk of the name Feargal, The Vaughans, Jez give Gary some props, Gary gives Wanda Jackson some props, Jez fantasizes about Elvis whilst being a massive pianist, the Seven Signs documentary gets a mention, and so much more. The term "bumper issue" gets thrown around fairly liberally around here but it certainly applies to this episode.

NEW EPISODE OUT EARLY WITH SPECIAL GUEST!

Link in the comments.

This episode starts with an excellent intro by Gordy Whyte from HEAD IN A JAR and Cold Ethyl - Alice Cooper Tribute fame, however it soon descends into madness as Gary and Jeremy run with Gordy's song choice and take the show down a path of weirdness only suitable for Whispod stalwarts or the bravest of newcomers.

In this episode, the lads talk about people who make music that sounds like other people, who they want Artificial Intelligence to make sing certain songs, the Pick of Destiny and Lynchland, running their Bjork impression into the ground, finally getting Kim Carnes and Rod Stewart to do a duet, Gary's experience with Weird Al's underwear, a soul singer who went b***y only to go on and invent rap, and much more.

Good luck with this episode. I don't know if this is the right time to suggest going and checking out our Patreon but here we are.

Featuring music by Jim Steinman, Céline Dion, Bobby Ramone, Liam Lynch, Kim Carnes, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Tom Lehrer, Blowfly and The Beatles (sort of)

During the episode, the lads discuss mates that are always having some kind of weird and/or wonderful things happening to them, the people's poet, Lemmy, nicey nice, Dennis Wilson's visions of the future, Dee Dee Ramone rapping, being shouted at by Henry Rollins, punk, seamless editing, bands and songs named after Jeremy, the key to what Whispod is all about, fearing Satan and so much more.

We have an epic episode of Whispod here for you, filled with aural delights and kicked off by the one and only Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz who you may know as the drummer for "Weird Al" Yankovic's band! Bermuda's song selection gets Gary and Jeremy into a bit of a 60s and power pop mood and, as always, the song selections take on a twisted path from there with an unprecedented three song closer.

During the episode, the lads talk about what Gary's middle name was going to be, Jeremy's love of power pop, Bond themes and songs that should have been Bond themes, terrible impressions, accordion rebels, WT Norbert and Sento, outsider art, and much more.

A NEW EPISODE WITH A SPECIAL GUEST!

https://open.spotify.com/episode/54uPl8tKAzxgKBsg2tRXMj?si=2dc629220d874ee6

Whispod is back and with a very special guest choosing the song with which to kick off the episode. Amanda Rodgers from the excellent Discord & Rhyme podcast selected a track near and dear to her to get the ball rolling.

Gary and Jeremy pick up the baton and run with it from there. They select a bunch of songs, including a couple from friends bands, before the episode plummets into an old school metal rabbit hole. The lads talk about different ways songs can be interpreted, the Discord and Rhyme podcast and why they are better than Careless Whispod, a damn van D, Night Flight Orchestra dragging Jeremy back into the metal realm, learning Spanish, other countries doing their take on Americana, when your music is too prog or too psychedelic, synths, how you can eat your pudding if you haven't eaten your meat and so much more.

Gary closes out the episode with a tribute to a dear and sadly departed friend, Trevor Bennett. Trev was a good friend who loved his music, Black Sabbath being a regular go to, so Gary plays Supernaut in tribute to a man who is sorely missed by all who knew him. This one's for you, Trev.
