And The Deadly Virus – Even The Muslim Corpses Aren’t Spared!
..Gota’s favouritism towards certain ethno-religious groups in Sri Lanka and how the politics of his regime is to shape up wasn’t just left to the above subtle gesture alone, in his inauguration address he made it abundantly obvious, He said:

“We knew right from the beginning that the Sinhala Buddhists of this country will be behind my victory. Although I knew I would be voted in by the Sinhala Buddhists, I expected the Tamils and Muslims to also be part of my victory. But my expectations were not met.”

Analysing the voters in a racial and religious basis set the stage for the politics that is to follow, and today, a mere five months into his presidency, we are seeing Covid-19 crisis, the global pandemic that is raking havoc around the globe, where no human being, regardless of their race, colour, social status is spared, taking a racial tint in Sri Lanka, perhaps the only country, apart from Modi’s fascist India, that is shamelessly looking at the infected on a racial ground. On the 18th day of November 2019, Gotabaya Rajapaksa was sworn in as the 7th executive President1 of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. ...Today we are told the face mask should be worn to save us and others from the virus by the media and last year we were told the face cover was a threat to us by the very same media and it shouldn’t be allowed in public. So it keeps worrying that the same human being could act differently depending on the information bombarded...Read More

He also revealed the sad status of the democratic representatives who were chosen by the public through this rotten democratic model to lead them. The MP declared “I don’t need character certificates from anyone here. There are 100 MPs here who hold bar permits, two who are engaged in drug trafficking and one who is engaged in racing and betting. Can we obtain character certificates from such persons?” His statement shows us that the very parliament, the home of the democratic process itself is not fit for the supposed purpose... For Sri Lankans, the first quarter of 2020 has almost exclusively been a tale of two viruses that have been unraveling day by day. One is novel and was timely identified as Corona in the early days of the New year. The other infection is, sadly, a widespread one. It is called ‘Corruption’ which ...

...In recent years Muslim minorities of India and Sri Lanka are facing a similar situation to that of the Jews in Germany. A continuous feel of guilt is imposed on our community to create an atmosphere that would portray our existence as a threat for the nation. And this threat is used as a propaganda tool to gather the people to form a majority in the parliament. No political party in India or Sri Lanka would succeed unless they are able be successfully deceive the nation every single time there is an election. The people see this as the bigger threat, while the resources of the land are sold for a cheap rate to its masters in America, Europe or their agents in the region....Read more

As February 4th dawns upon us, nearly 21 million of Sri Lanka’s inhabitants will be celebrating its 71st independence day once again. A celebration of freedom and independence from colonial rule after nearly four centuries under the Portuguese, Dutch and then the British.

"...Terrorism whether waged by informal groups or States hiding behind the cloak of national security is equally deplorable. Extremism and terrorism can best be managed by a holistic approach, focusing on the social and emotional reasons for extremist behaviour, with a human-centred approach. Therefore, confining to an anti-Muslim agenda, in fighting those cancers eating into the fabric of humanity, will not only be a futile exercise, but suicidal too; akin to missing the woods for the trees..." In hindsight, the barbaric Easter Sunday massacre- Sri Lanka’s equivalent of America’s 9/11, was most unfortunate as it was a preventable tragedy. Compound failures predominantly on the part of the establishment let it happen. Particularly, what makes this tragedy more despicable was that it als...

"These imposters make pompous claims to be nationalists and pretend to be religious, the goal of which is to deceive their people. Their claim to be nationalists is false, for they pit one community against the other and work against the national interest. Their claim to be pious is false too, for no pious person would ever seek political greatness by standing on the dead bodies and destroyed properties of other communities, as a result of the racism he aroused. It is the greatest of men who take to politics, and they do so due to the fear of being ruled, in their abstention from politics, by those who lack greatness and are below them. That was Plato talking. Greatness of a ruler is not found in him simply being a ruler, but in being able to produce wise l...

Sri Lankan presidential election 2019 is over. Gotabaya Rajapakshe has won, which has made some people happy, and others unhappy. Happy people believe that everything will be hunky dory from now on, while the Unhappy people believe that hell will break loose. But the truth of the matter is that both...

Six months ago, in the wake of extremely shocking scenes relating to the Easter Sunday massacre, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, called on Sri Lanka’s government to “mercilessly” punish those responsible “because only animals can behave like that”. Both religious and world leaders strongly conde...
