We recorded this episode back in 2018, but the message still rings so true today. đź’— This idea of being 'enough' is something intangible, something that, in all realty, doesn't even make sense. . . yet we chase it because we're convinced that we're 'less' than what the world says we should be.

If you're feeling pressure to be 'enough,' or if you're struggling to love yourself (and your mess), here are some thoughts from the 'On Being Enough,' episode → bit.ly/MDBeingEnough

"Think about the time music saved you." 💛🎧

Don't we all have a story?! So excited to release this episode with Tim Ringgold, MT-BC, a speaker, TEDx speaker, author, and music therapist, about the healing power of music. In this episode, we discuss pain and healing, high and low moments of life, and how music (or whatever else we listen to) can become a powerful catalyst for energy, healing, and self-love.

“Keep the momentum going because when you take the next step, and then the next step, and the next, you start building momentum, which starts creating into a habit, which starts creating discipline for yourself. And that’s what’s really important to do otherwise you’re going to fall off and never actually end up pursuing it.”
— Nastassia Ponomarenko

The pandemic reshaped life for so many of us. For Allison Davis Allison Davis Photography, an award-winning wedding photographer, opportunities to share her gifts and pursue her business were stopped short by the global shutdown.

Inspired to shift her focus and direction, Allison took off on a 30-day road trip up and down the American West Coast, photographing everything she saw. During the heart of COVID-19, she created 'Revealed at the Edge,' a 500+ page fine art photography coffee table book documenting the 3,116 miles (and over 250 landscapes) between Blaine, WA to San Diego, CA. ✨

And in this episode, she shares everything about her journey, mission, message, and heart behind the project! đź’—

Even if we try to 'plan' everything perfectly, even if we think we're going to have it all figured out, and even if we put in as much work as possible to make things *perfect* — it will still be messy sometimes.

And that's okay.

What does it mean to be a ✨ multi-passionate ✨ person?

This is an identity I've adopted in the past few years, a label that's found its way into my bio and description. As a creator, I've always been excited about the ways I could share my heart and soul with the world. From as young as age five, I was penning stories and crafting tales in my notebooks. Writing was in my blood and always has been.

But about four years ago, I had this calling to share my spoken words — beyond poetry and speaking engagements — in a way that was even more purposeful and engaging: PODCASTING!

The began as a passion project with a dear friend... and quickly became something that I enjoyed doing, something that I (tried to consistently) commit to, and something that connected me with incredible people everywhere.

As I reflect on this season of pandemic life, quarantine, starting a homeschool, and running my full-time business (while trying to stay sane in the process) I've realized that I've been challenged in so many ways to figure out my 'lanes.' And honestly, some things have suffered as I've bitten off more than I could chew, juggled all the different balls of my life, and tried to find my own pockets of self-care amidst survival mode.

Although this podcast has not been as consistent as I'd like, and although the stories have not been as quickly shared with the world as I'd want them to, I am so incredibly humbled and thankful for the opportunity to put people's words out there, to celebrate stories of life, and to get vulnerable about our shared humanness.

As I attempt to regain control of my priorities — the never-ending struggle — I am excited to, in essence, 're-launch' this podcast and share some incredible people and stories with you.

To those who have been with me from the start, thank you for your unwavering support. For those of you who are just learning about , you can stream the show on all platforms; Spotify, Apple Podcast, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, etc. or directly on my website: marisadonnelly.com/vulnerability-podcast ❤️

Creating a podcast, for me, has looked like this:

✨ Getting incredibly excited and jumping on mediocre recordings with a friend
✨ Striving to create a schedule but really just having fun
✨ Streaming through a basic server with barely-edited content
✨ Growing into a well-loved series that people wanted to listen to (!!)
✨ Re-launching on my website & updating each episode manually
✨ Having guests worldwide show interest in coming on (!!)
✨ Running everything on my own & continually falling behind on production
✨ Hating myself for growing something bigger than I could handle
✨ Giving myself grace throughout the p4ndemic
✨ Re-launching with intention & heart

And now, heading into 2022, we're here!
Thanks to everyone who stuck around.

We're ready to share & get vulnerable with you again!

What does it mean to live vulnerably?

As a writer, I started off with stories, poems, and blogs. I started penning my heart on the page. I started sharing things that I was encouraged to "shy away" from, or "keep inside." I started with telling people how I felt about them, giving hugs instead of handshakes when I met someone new.

I started with little things — conversations and coffee dates. Until I felt so comfortable in my own skin that I wasn't afraid anymore. That is where bloomed.

What began as open conversations with a good friend about the craziness of life, soon became a podcast where I poured my secrets and asked others to openly share theirs. It became a space where nothing was 'off-limits' and sharing was praised and encouraged, not stifled.

This podcast is a place to express, to connect, and to realize that NONE OF US are alone in our experiences. Come take this journey with me.

“Sex is the perfect analogy for life: How much pleasure can you allow yourself to receive in the lo******ng space from someone you love? And that’s really going to be a mirror for how much pleasure you allow yourself to receive in life.

How deep can you go?
How present can you be?”
— Michael McPherson

Think of the possibilities of the "no."

As we step into this new year, I think understanding the power of 'no' can be really life-changing. As a 'yes' type of person, learning that 'no' can be a shift, a change, or a new opportunity is inspiring.

Embrace the unexpected —that's where you grow.

What do you falsely see as weakness?
Let's change that.

The has featured people from all ages, journeys, backgrounds and walks of life. And one thread runs through → vulnerability is not weakness.

Vulnerability is strength. 👊🏻👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿

As we get closer to the new year, we're committed to vulnerability in our own ways: in our process, our episodes, and the ways we've fallen short of sharing with you over the past year. Our goal is to bring more intentional, purposeful content to you.

Let's get started! → Ep. 59 with Michael McPherson just dropped!
