Breaking......

Panic at onward area of ondo road as gunmen abduct 3 yr old in Akure.

There is palpable fear around the onward area of ondo in Akure the state capital over the abduction of a three-year-old girl this night.

It was gathered that the girl was inside her mother's car with another sibling coming from a church Programme around futa north gate.

The mother had barely entered her compound and was about to lock the gate when two hefty men came out of a Benz car which has been trailing them from Agagu road.

The gunmen allegedly seized the young girl with a threat to shoot the mother and the other child before they zoomed off after holding the key of the woman's car to prevent being chased with the car.

Some residents and passers-by who were attracted by the wailing of the woman were said to have pursued the gunmen with the help of okada riders but could not locate their route after getting to the main road.

The case has been reported at the fanibi police station while efforts are been made to contact the Amotekun corps.

1 Bedroom Apartment For N7.2m?

FG is selling a 1bedroom apartment for N7.2m on its portal for the FG 5,000 housing units which are under different phases of completion.

Minimum wage is 30k. If a civil servant earning that wage uses all the salary to pay for the building every month and go home empty handed, he or she will pay for 20years and 6 months. If half of the salary (15k) is used to pay, the person will pay for 41years and 2months then take home 15k. Yet the civil servant can only work for 30/35years and retire. So half of your lifetime earnings still cannot afford you a one bedroom apartment from your government.

And those houses won't even be sold to new entrants into the service. Politicians and the senior evil servants will mop them up and resell to the smaller evil servants at increased prices.

You see that this country is still a huge crime scene?

The more reason we should embrace cheaper alternative housing with plastic waste.

Yours sincerely,
Citizen Agba Jalingo

"S.T SOAP: THE FALL OF A PROMISING INDIGENOUS BRAND

In 1979 Alhaji Safiriyu Tiamiyu started what is known today as S.T Soaps Limited with the sum of five thousand naira ( #5000), expanding from the corridors of his home to erecting a state of the art factory in Ijebu-Mushin, Ogun State.

Despite his wee level of education, S.T understands the importance of advertisements on effective marketing, he invested a huge sum on advertisement, the brand's Jingle on the then Radio Nigeria and across media houses still evokes nostalgic thoughts. By the early '90s, the company expand from soap making to making polythene products having over a thousand workforce most of which are inhabitants of Ijebu-Mushin.

S.T's sporadic downfall began in 2004 when his factory workers began to clamour for a staff union, S.T was reportedly dissatisfied with the idea of a staff union within the premises of his business, he argued that the idea is not appropriate in a sole proprietorship enterprise, the staffs who alleged that they are being maltreated by the company's management, started a protest by abandoning their tasks. During the protest, one of the staff allegedly damaged a mixing machine. This infuriated S.T who invited the police to arrest the vandal but on getting to the scene the police fired intermittently in the air and arrested everybody they found including non-staffs and strangers. One of the villagers (a deaf boy) was said to have been hit by a stray bullet.

The police involvement created a complete pandemonium, the villagers got enraged, they vowed to raze the factory if their children were not released from police custody, the old women threatened to protest naked with a left foot sandal and a left earring, realising the consequences of his actions, S.T quickly called for the release of the protesters and everyone arrested at the scene. It took the intervention of the police D.P.O to quell the growing disturbance, both parties (S.T and his staffs) were called to a roundtable and a compromise was reached.

However, on Friday, May 13th, 2005, five police officers from the Elewe-Eran police command, Abeokuta, stormed the factory, S.T was arrested, one of the villagers called Baba Oníkèké, had implicated him in a kidnapping and ritual case, Baba Onikeke alleged that S.T regularly buys human parts from him. S.T's home was ransacked but nothing was found, the court case spanned for several months but the case was finally dismissed by His Lordship O.S Moronfolu 1 of the Magisterial district, Chief Magistrate court, Ijebu-Ode.

Following these incidents, S.T was unable to regain his feet, he went into depression, his life never remained same. He, however, died on October 5, 2020, after years of battling an undisclosed illness."

BREAKING!!! Bandits Kill All Members of a Community in Niger, Set All Houses Ablaze 😭😭😭

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have burnt 10 people alive in the Kachiwe community in Sarkin Pawa Ward of the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.

The Secretary of Munya Local Government Area, James Jagaba, narrated the ordeal which he described as ‘an ugly incident’.

He added that the bandits moved to Shapè village under the Sarki Pawa ward and slaughtered nine people while others in the community took to their heels adding that they also killed seven people in the Gogope ward.

He said, “The bandits set all the houses ablaze, burnt 10 people alive, abducted seven women and slaughtered the others. On their way after carrying out their heinous act, they met two people whose vehicle broke down, they stopped and killed those two people; then burnt down their vehicle. In the process, three of the abducted women escaped and the bandits went with the other seven women.

“The whole community was wiped out by the bandits, nobody survived. We got to know about how they carried out the activities from the women who escaped and are still in shock.”

It was learnt that the bandits were able to carry out their activities unabated due to the seizure of mobile networks in the affected communities.

“We were told that all efforts to reach the security personnel proved abortive because, for some days, there has not been mobile network service in Munya local government. The people could not reach out to the security agencies neither could they reach out to the council. At the council, we got the message very late and efforts to get the security was not possible”, James said.

32 travellers missing as kidnappers attack two passenger buses in Ekiti
Eyewitnesses said the kidnappers took four passengers, while others jumped out of the vehicles and fled in different directions.

Nigerian Police Force
The police command in Ekiti cannot account for the whereabouts of 32 persons as kidnappers seized two buses transiting through the state on Monday.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson in the state, Sunday Abutu, said the abduction took place on the Ayetoro Ekiti – Otun Ekiti Road in Moba local government area of the state.

At least four persons, 32 remain missing, Mr Abutu said, adding that the police had “begun to unravel those behind the abduction and efforts were being made to rescue the victims.”

According to him, “It is true there was a kidnap on Monday morning along that axis. We heard the information, and we have deployed our personnel there.

“It began on Sunday evening when some suspected robbers attacked a man who the police thereafter rescued. But this morning, we learnt that the suspects were the ones who abducted some road users. The police are on their trail,” he said.

Eyewitnesses said the victims were taken into the bush by the gun-wielding men.

The kidnappers attacked two buses conveying passengers from Otun-Ekiti, took four, while other passengers jumped out of the vehicles and fled in different directions.

One of those who escaped told residents that the gunmen took away four passengers from the two buses.

Another source said hunters in the area were informed of the incident and they promised to go after the kidnappers.

“Before they got to the scene, the gunmen had driven or pushed the two buses into the bush. At that point, we cannot say the number of people taken into the forest, but the buses are still there as we speak.

“I advised the hunters and security agents who arrived at the scene that the kidnappers would have gone towards the Otun Ekiti end and that they would not have gone far that time.

“Definitely, they are the ones who operated on Ayetoro-Ewu Road on Sunday evening too.

“That of Sunday operation was not successful, and perhaps that is why they visited again to carry out this one,” the source said.

“On that Sunday evening, they attacked commercial motorcyclists by shooting sporadically into the air to scare people.

“A commercial motorcyclist was stopped at gunpoint and they took all his valuables, while another motorcyclist escaped into the bush.

“The kidnappers fled when they noticed that the other commercial motorcyclist had escaped. We never knew they would continue their onslaught today, Monday,” the source added.
