Beauty provokes harassment, the law says, but it looks through men's eyes when deciding what provokes it.
Now, should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do with being r***d. Women don’t get r***d because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get r***d because they weren’t careful enough. Women get r***d because someone r***d them.
R**e is one of the most terrible crimes on earth and it happens every few minutes. The problem with groups who deal with r**e is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves. What really needs to be done is teaching men not to r**e. Go to the source and start there.
