„For the writer, there is the obligation to have a pattern, know its possibilities, and break it. Here, it’s possible to experiment and be free.“
Great advice from multi-talented Chris Vogler, who taught at UCLA and is currently a screenwriter, author, and Hollywood development executive in our latest talk of the Coffee Break Series. Have a look: https://www.equinoxe-europe.org/master-classes/coffee-break-series.html

It's time to have coffee and get inspired again! This time the immensely talented Australien script editor Claire Dobbin shares her expertise: "Think about the title of your film and how the opening sequence can amplify that." During a charming lesson she also reveals how being aware of genre rules is crucial and why characters should be established properly. Tune in and enjoy - - available on our website: https://www.equinoxe-europe.org/master-classes/coffee-break-series.html

Would you like to have a coffee break? Then feel free to get inspired by our Masterclass experts. During the next months, we'll share some fascinating insights by experienced screenwriters and producers, who joined our workshops in the past.

Have a look at the first episode with Danny Rubin (GROUNDHOG DAY) who talks about creative writing, the challenges (and opportunities) of dialogue, attaching meaning to objects and the importance of soldier number 5 - available on our website: https://www.equinoxe-europe.org/master-classes/coffee-break-series.html

In order to become a mother to her young and motherless niece, Fran, who, although born a woman, lives the celibate life of a man, has to make the hard choice of either continuing to maintain the status of a “man” or give it all up to reconnect with the feminine maternal feelings that she has suppressed for so long.
THE MAN OF THE HOUSE, Andamion Murataj’s debut as a director entered production in February and was shot in and around Tirana, Albania as a coproduction with Austria and Italy. We can't wait for the final result!

How would you react if you witnessed a car accident?
Canadian screenwriter, director, and eQuinoxe alumnus Jason Buxton tackles this question in his suspenseful thriller SHARP CORNER, which follows the seemingly idyllic country life of married couple Josh and Rachel MacAulay who witness two car accidents at the sharp corner near their home. While Rachel would rather forget the incidents, Josh sees himself as the first responder who is needed in danger.

eQuinoxe Alumnus’ Claudia Rorarius’ TOUCHED was a favourite with critics and Locarno Film Festival visitors alike. The film was awarded the Golden Leopard Award for Best Actor. Congratulations to both Ísold Halldórudóttir and Stavros Zafeiris, the film’s main protagonists, who received critical acclaim in the festival’s young talent competition.

„TOUCHED, in its plot, is minimalistic yet open and serious in how it deals with unusual, almost delicate topics. (…) One of the main discoveries of this festival.“
