With so many baby products out there it’s hard to navigate what you actually need, and what is actually useful during pregnancy and those early years! Most of us have seen the golden lists of products and tips that have been circulated through friend groups during pregnancy, and we wanted to create an episode that gives you the low-down on what products you will actually need when having a baby!

We’re chatting to the amazing Phoebe Simmonds, co-founder of . In this chat we discuss what our top tips are for baby products, what every new mum needs, the products you don’t need, and the products to buy before baby arrives vs after baby is here. So many great tips for new Mums, seasoned Mums or those looking for the perfect baby shower gift!

Alongside her co-founder, Kate Casey, Phoebe has built a retail destination and community for parents that's supportive, educational and trust-worthy.  Phoebe is also a mother to her step-son Tyler (7yrs old) and her son Remy (2 yrs old).

In this epidemic of loneliness so many of us are experiencing feelings of isolation, especially after having children. In this week’s episode we chat about what a women’s circle is, and why these are such an amazing way to form and nurture connections between other women within your community.

We are chatting with Rachael Rose, a Doula and women’s circle facilitator. Rachael is a mother and community maker who lives on the South Coast of NSW. She facilitates women's circles, is the founder of Together, her circle facilitator training, and mentors other mothers in business.

Rachael helps women reclaim their stories, feel more powerful and give less f***s about being perfect! Her teaching style is humorous, engaging, compassionate, and a little sweary (our kind of gal). As a mother of two home-schooled children, Rachael has grown her heart-centered business alongside her family.

HELLO!! 👋 We've got a few new faces around here so thought we'd do a little intro post on who we are and why we started this podcast ❀

We've been friends for over 10 years now, and by some cosmic magic we got pregnant at exactly the same time with our first babes and had the same due date! (We now have two bubbas each!)

From there our beautiful close friendship grew as we went through each week of pregnancy together, celebrating scans and milestones and then birthed our babies in the peak of covid lockdowns. To make up for no mothers groups during covid we messaged daily and met weekly to take the babies for walks. We tried our best to navigate this new life stage of motherhood together, without much support and absolutely no f!cking idea what we were doing!

When the babies were just over a year we started Baby Brain to share invaluable parenting info and our own experiences, and to create a community with other everyday parents who were in the thick of it too.

Our goal has always been to be authentic in our parenting experience, to share important information from professionals as well as stories from other everyday Mums. We always aim to inject fun, relatability and enthusiasm in our episodes while never steering away from the hard conversations. We want to represent parenting in all of its beautiful and challenging forms. 💗

We LOVE doing the podcast and feel so honoured that you're all a part of our community. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being here!

Our biggest hope is that we can make you feel more seen and supported, while giving you a good laugh along the way! đŸ„°

Introducing a new sibling into your family is a huge transition for everyone! And for those of us that have gone through it, we know the transition can be a bit tricky for the older kids. In this episode we’re chatting to psychologist Sahra O’Doherty about how to manage your older children’s emotions when introducing a new sibling.

We talk about things to do before the baby arrives to help prepare them, what you can do after the baby arrives to make them feel included and continue the sense of routine, as well as how to identify if your child is struggling with this big change.

We also discuss tips for regulating our own emotions during this transition, because let’s be honest, it’s tricky for the parents too! We also delve into what is mindfulness vs mindlessness and how to incorporate mindfulness into your daily routine.

Sahra has been a registered Psychologist for over 12 years, is co-owner of Mindscape Psychology and Allied Health, and is President of Australian Association of Psychologists inc. Sahra is a feminist psychologist and is passionate about issues such as the mental load, gender norms and expectations with kids.
