The album is released in digital form today, and will be available in a limited run of cassettes through Lunar Seas Records and Realm and Ritual very soon.

RAR112 - Lunar Ark "Recurring Nightmare"

Hand-numbered edition of 100 tapes through a corelease with Spain's Lunar Seas Records - 50 jet black shells and 50 pearl white shells with pad printing.

"Heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars drone on endlessly accompanied by slow, aggressive drumming and deep, growling bass riffs drowning in the realm of sludge. Painful high screamed blackened vocals wail atop, heightening the heaviness and brutality below. The tempo picks up slightly at certain points, echoing 1980s hardcore punk with wandering chords, yet only briefly: everything returns to the unrelenting, slow paces of doom, which seem to dominate the album. Some exploratory passages of atmospheric rumblings and melodic singing are an added bonus, pushing the music into the realm of post-metal, yet even this seems to be too limiting to describe the various elements on “Recurring Nightmare”.

Very excited to be releasing Marthe - Sister of Darkness on Summer Solstice - June 21th @ 15:00!

From the review on DECIBEL - June 19th 2020: “For all its spirit, ingenuity and dedication—not to mention the fact that it flat-out rules—a project like Marthe is one in a million. According to Marzia, the sole and singular woman behind Marthe, Italy’s latest solo black/doom sensation, Marthe’s demo Sisters of Darkness “arises from the temple of a feminine entity, summons earthly and fire energies and releases it with an outlet of enraged blackened passion.”

This demo has been released as a diy demotape limited to 50 homemade copies in 2019.
In 2020 Caligari records released 150 copies for the first US press and shortly after 150 copies have been repressed (second US press).

This is the first EU official demo tape press limited to 50 hand-numbered cassettes.
5 panel J-Card with lyrics, nobody printed “Grey Armor” color cassette.
It will come together with A5 format print on 300gr paper, hand numbered and signed. Illustration done by me - representing the Monte Caprione menhir, located in Liguria, Northern Italy, where Marthe is from. A truly magical place - on Summer Solstice, the sunlight will glimmer through the stone structure and project a butterfly-shaped ray of light on a monolith.

The concept is a tribute to Saint Eulalia as one of the first women in history who fought for women empowerment and gender equality.

El artwork es de Narcís Boter y homenajea la figura de Santa Eulàlia, no como santa cristiana, sino como una de las primeras mujeres de la historia que se alzó y luchó por sus derechos y por la igualdad de género.

Machine Music's music appreciation club continues, albeit a bit differently this time since the release that had prompted my desire to interview the artist behind it about some of his/her favorite music is in fact a split album. The Mania/Phobonoid album brings together two incredible one-man black metal projects from the U.S. and Italy, making for not just some of the best black metal you'll hear this year but also a surprisingly dynamic full-album experience. At the dawn of fall of this tumultuous year, Lunar Seas Records is proud to announce her first release.
The crushing Mania/Phobonoid split, first edition limited to 100 cassettes will be unleashed October 1st and is now available for preorder on bandcamp lunarseasrec.bandcamp.com/

Phobonoid is a one man band from Phobos who currently lives somewhere between Italy and Spain. He plays a personal blend of black metal, doom and industrial with a touch of ambient and electronic.

Mania is the solo project of Nate Myers from bands such as Hell and Leech. Out of Portland, Oregon, Mania infuses a chaotic nihilistic black metal sound with ambiance, creating harmonic and disharmonic passages using several layers of guitars.

The original version of this album was rushed out to raise funds for those who have lost their jobs due to being quarantined against covid-19.
More than 400 dollars have been raised.

This is the official and final version and it comes with an extra track by Phobonoid (Voivod's ”Forgotten in Space” cover) and with a brand new mix of Mania’s side.

Both sides have been mastered by Javi Flz of Moontower Studios
