Flamingo Eggs 2021
We cannot deny it... WE ARE EXCITED! 🦩❤️
The arrival of new members to the Loro Parque family is always very special, as well as being a very good indicator of animal welfare.
We hope to introduce a new member to you soon.... 🤩
Cleaning the gills of the emperor red snapper
Do you know what symbiosis is?
It is the biological interaction that results in mutual benefits for the vital development of organisms of different species.
Here, while cleaning the gills of the emperor red snapper (Lutjanus sebae), we can see a case of perfect symbiosis.
What other cases of symbiosis do you know of?
Tima formosa, a truly fascinating jellyfish
This year, as every year, we have a new species of jellyfish in AquaViva!
Join Ester Alonso, curator of fish and invertebrates at Loro Parque, as she shows us how spectacular the Tima formosa is, a tiny jellyfish truly fascinating.
Jaguars environmental enrichment
Time for environmental enrichment! As you already know, the team of keepers of Loro Parque works every day in order to provide the maximum welfare to the animals.
Among many diverse techniques, they use environmental enrichment, which is aimed to facilitate the development of the animal's natural behaviour.
Catey Parrot Conservation
Did you know that we have been working in Cuba for years to ensure the conservation of its endemic parrots?

Welcome to Pauline, a female sloth
Today we publicly welcome Pauline, a female sloth from Vienna Zoo who has recently joined the big Loro Parque family.
Meet her with Ignacio Ezquerro, Terrestrial Mammals and Reptiles Conservator, and come and visit her as soon as possible!
Welcome Pauline! 🦥
Otters' environmental enrichment
This log looks like... a deer?! 🦌 And it smells like fish!
The Mammals team has designed such a quirky environmental enrichment for the otters and we could watch them play for hours...
Look how it stimulates them and how they smell, search and try to get the pieces of fish out of every little hole!
In addition, this deer can also be used in other facilities, such as those for felines, and be a wonderful olfactory enrichment. 💚
Morgan - The Brave Orca
We are pleased to bring to you an exclusive premiere of the animated short film "Morgan, the brave orca", an exciting story of endurance and animal welfare, covering truly worrying issues such as underwater noise.
For us, today is a very special and emotional day. It has been 11 years since Morgan, a hearing-impaired orca, was rescued from a rather uncertain future in conditions of severe malnourishment and completely alone.
The work of animal embassies like Loro Parque is essential in situations like this, where the lives of animals are in danger and we have the right tools to protect them.

Morgan - The brave Orca - Trailer
Tomorrow, 24 June, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of Morgan's rescue, we will exclusively premiere the short film "Morgan, the brave orca"! You will be able to hear Morgan's wonderful story and also learn about the problems of underwater noise.
This is something that concerns us enormously and, in fact, through Loro Parque Fundación, we are not only working to raise awareness, but also to measure the problem, for which we have set up the first underwater noise register in the Canary Islands and we hope that, in the future, it can be extended to the whole of Macaronesia.
We want Morgan's story of hope to go around the world! 💙
The problem of underwater noise
Are you aware of the problem of underwater noise?
The modification of the natural sound of the sea significantly alters the behaviour of marine biodiversity, given that a large number of animals use sounds to be able to communicate with each other and discover a little more of their environment.
With the idea of solving this situation, we at Loro Parque Fundación are calling on the European Commission to prioritise the measurement of noise and underwater soundscapes within the Marine Protected Areas of the Natura 2000 network.
AquaViva is absolutely radiant!
We invite you to immerse yourself in this ocean of peace in which everything, from the shapes to the colours or the rhythm encourage you to relax and concentrate on nothing but the present moment!
A magical place where you can learn all about the fascinating world of jellyfish. 😌
Ring-tailed lemurs ASMR
Oh how we love a bit of ASMR! After the success of our session with the tortoises, today we are listening to the ring-tailed lemurs eat their meal. It may sound strange, but it's actually wonderful! 😋
Reopening of Poema del Mar
From May 1st you can visit Loro Parque and also Poema del Mar in Gran Canaria.
And with its reopening, our beloved Poema del Mar´s Corner is back.
Discover what the depths of the ocean hide and marvel at the different species that share the spotlight in the spectacular exhibitions inside the aquarium. For more information, follow Poema del Mar on their social networks and let yourself be dazzled!
Loggerhead turtles diverse diet
Have you ever seen a turtle eat a jellyfish? Today is your opportunity!
Loggerhead turtles or Caretta caretta, like Federica, have a very diverse diet as they are omnivorous, and their meals include jellyfish, which provide hydration and various nutrients such as fatty acids.
We think Federica was very happy with the snack she got today.

Galapagos tortoises ASMR
Today Loro Parque's tortoises have come to relax you?
Watch them enjoying this delicious feast and listen to how crunchy are the organic vegetables we have prepared for them..
What you are seeing (and hearing) is called ASMR but, do you know what it means? It stands for "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response", which refers to the ability to generate a relational effect on the viewer. Its popularity on the internet is based on the relaxation and emotional regulation effects it can have by promoting positive feelings.
Did you know about it?
