WHAT 6+ MONTHS OF PACKING LOOKS LIKE
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rolling all of your clothing is the trick! Both of my bags weigh a combined 17 kg/37 pounds.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I didn't show all of my toiletries/medications except for the shampoo and conditioner bar because that widely varies depending on the person. I also don't wear makeup so that saves me space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whatever else I need, I can buy while traveling. I try to make sure that I take with me items that I know that I won't be able to find anywhere else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Buying empty containers that are up to 100 ml/3 oz also works when it comes to replenishing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are over 3 weeks worth of outfits in my bags, and that's what laundry day is all about.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Got any questions? Let me know! Ps: had to speed up the video to make it under 60 seconds! 😅

WHAT IS A SECOND-WORLD COUNTRY?
We use the phrases 1st and 3rd without ever thinking about their real meaning. We've known them forever. I don't blame you because I did this too.
But LANGUAGE has an impact. A negative one in this case. By creating this 1st/3rd narrative, we are biased to believe that 3rd is worse than 1st. Them vs us.
Third CLASS. Third PLACE. Third-world COUNTRY. Therefore, third-class CITIZENS. All inferior to their counterparts.
Life is a learning experience. And terms that were used decades ago are no longer relevant. Third-world countries shouldn't be either.
Share this if you learned something new today. And let others know in the comments below what your place of origin, or country you live in, qualifies as so we can all learn something new from each other.

THE BEST GHOST TOWN IN NAMIBIA
📌 Save for your next Namibia visit!
This place was worth the hype. There are many ghost towns scattered all over Namibia, but this one is the best-preserved one.
There are tours running twice a day. This only lasts an hour and then you're free to roam around for the next two hours. If you want to stay the whole day, you'll need a photography permit which you can get downtown in Lüderitz at the Desert Deli.
This is the gateway to one of the most remote areas in the world... And most people tend to ignore it when they visit Namibia. Go off-the-beaten path and skip the crowds. You won't regret it.
Follow along for more travel stories and tips as I travel overland through the whole southern African region ONLY using public transportation.

One of the world's 7 natural wonders
Victoria Falls
🙌🏽 Useful tips:
🗺️ This tourist site is split between two countries! Zambia and Zimbabwe. The micro flight starts from $170+ USD and can be booked through @getyourguide. This can be a splurge but how often are you going to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world this way?
🛥️ This activity can be found on the Zambian side, so plan accordingly! On the Zimbabwean side you can do a sunrise or sunset river cruise, which I also highly recommend and it can also be booked through GetYourGuide.

I got robbed at the airport
And how to stay safe while traveling
🏦 Get a card from a digital bank. These can be blocked directly from your phone without having to call the bank, saving you time and potentially $ if it takes too long to contact your bank. THIS is the main reason I was so relaxed
🖨️ Always keep a physical copy AND a digital copy of your passport and ID in case you need to report it to authorities.
🕜 It can take seconds for someone to take your stuff. It's so easy to get distracted or to think that our valuables are safe in certain locations, including airports
💳 Keep your cards separate in case one goes missing. This way you'll always have access to your finances in case things go wrong
🎒 Keep your most valuable belongings with you at all times. If you have to get separated from one of your bags, make sure that what matters the most is with you at all time. THE most basic advice out there but one that I just missed
📰 $#it happens. Travel is unpredictable. Always try to stay safe, but not so safe that you'll ignore a destination just because you heard something bad happened to someone somewhere. Don't forget that it's always the bad news we hear about.
🛡️ Get travel insurance that includes theft. Make sure to file a police report as proof so that you can use those documents to make a claim with the insurance company.
Just keeping it real here. I feel like a complete idiot but hey! As annoying as this all is... this is all stuff that I can get again.
What's the worst travel incident you've ever had?

THE COUNTRY YOU SHOULD ADD TO YOUR LIST
...If you're visiting South Africa.
Quick tips:
🛣️ Rent a car and drive from Durban or Bloemfontein in South Africa. If you want to take public transportation, you can take the bus from Bloemfontein and it's only around $8 USD across the border.
🛑 If you're coming in from Durban, Sani Pass is one of the most epic roads in the world, but it's a challenging drive.
🧣Layer up, this is the country with the highest elevation in the whole of Africa. It gets chilly.
🙋🏾♂️ Get a guide! You'll just visit the 3 main tourist spots without one. If you want to REALLY see what the country is like, get one. There is very limited info about Lesotho online. A friend recommended @lesotho_tour_guide and we hired his services for a few days. We had a blast!
I'm traveling from southern to eastern Africa just using public buses... And there's practically no info online. Come follow along to see what the journey is like!

UNDERRATED COUNTRY ALERT!
This tiny country is paradise to anyone who's into nature and culture... And hates crowds 😅
It's landlocked in South Africa and people normally make it out here for a day trip... what a waste! With the help of the amazing @kay_the_guide, we spent 5 days around this beautiful country and got to experience it through a local's eyes.
I'm currently traveling through Africa ONLY using local buses. There's very little information online about how to do this, but I'll be sharing the whole journey here with you. 3 months. 9 countries. No planning.
