Season 3, Ep.32 Couching The Mind
Topic - Mindfulyes
Interviewee - Monica Posada

In this episode of CTM, founder of Sol Being
(mindfulness course), and Box Femme (female boxing community), Monica Posada, joins me in conversation revolving around the topic of ‘Mindfulyes’. 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙

Topics that Monica and I went over throughout the interview 🎧🎤:
- Box femme - Empowering women
- Natural healing. I.E. Wim Hof breathing method
- Stop and accept the situation for what it is
Sol Being -> Mindfulness course
- The art of being ‘present’
- Reaching ‘flow state’ when in conversation - Think about your actions before participating in them (being 100% mindful of the situation) - Partaking in a ‘silent retreat’
- Can ‘mindfulness’ be used for the wrong reasons?
- Putting together a business / going from an idea, and implementing it
- Define Mindfulness?

Overall message of the episode --> We can put so much time and energy in the idea of putting together our own life ‘plan’. Which would also incorporate in certain goals along the way. But more importantly, majority of the time we forget to enjoy the present moment. And actually feel ourselves being present, whilst not allowing our mind to drift off into future thoughts, or into things from the past. No one truely knows what tomorrow will bring. So being present, and also actually enjoying the present moment, is such an important part of life.

"Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did." - Newt Gingrich

Even when people may already have certain opinions about you, never let them define 'you'. The only opinion that really truely matters in the end, is your own. And once you start to believe in yourself, anything that you set your mind too then becomes a high possibility of succession.

"I want a way out of loneliness" -

Movie -

Loneliness can be treated. But by praying and hoping that these feelings will eventually go away, nothing will ever be resolved. Find your niche. Rediscover a hobby, that when you involve yourself in it, it puts you in that 'better place'. I guess to a degree it's about finding positive distractions.

Maybe your trying to overcome a break up of a long term relationship, or you've lost yourself, and who you truely are as an individual. Or that your once close friends appear to be quite distant in recent times. Whatever may be the case, find something that can put your overwhelming thoughts at rest, even for a split second. But in retrospect with this, when the darker side of life continues to eat away at you, be sure to expell your struggles onto those that you can fully trust. For if you choose to hold it from within, A, no one else will ever truely know how your feeling (internally), and B, self positive overcomings will be much more difficult to come by....

It's amazing how much a fluffy little creature can positivity impact your own mental state.

I remember when Odie was alive, and I'd come home from a difficult day at work, and I'd open the back door to let him in. He'd be running of pure adrenaline and excitment that I was finally home. And this is the funny thing with pets. No matter what mood your in. Happy, sad, grumpy... They'll always be excited to see you.

Not long ago, when I really struggled with my own mental health, Odie was my little knight in shining armour. At the time I was overthinking everything. What's the meaning of life? Why is the sky blue? What is my Purpose? And then that 'falling into a slump' feeling would kick into gear. Odie was always that positive distraction. He was happy to chill in your company, plus he loved to run around and play, which helped me attain that endorphin hit. Which is such a great way of dealing with headnoise. Hence why there's alot of people out there that would regularly go to the gym. It keeps them fit, and they get that endorphin hit.

Pets are more than just pets... And it's so important that we treat them right. Abuse, overfeeding, underfunding, etc.... There's no place for this. They do so much for us, with our own mental health and wellbeing. Pets deserve to feel like they belong...

Got the Biccies 💥👟

New 10km Pb time - 43.00

It was certainly a challenging run, with the 1km gateway bridge section (1km elevated run), and the other hills that were apart of the track. Plus I was also fighting alot of headnoise at the 7km mark. But once I finally crossed the finishing line, it made it all worth while. 🏃🏃‍♀️💨💨

Such an incredibly important message.

Simple, yet extremely relevant....

Why is it so hard to 'cry' on a mates shoulder when we're going through a rough patch? It is because we find it embarrassing? Or is it because it would then highlight our weaknesses?

Whatever it may be, it really doesn't matter. You going to that extend of talking expressively, rather than internally allow the negativity to simmer. Overtime, it'll do you so many favours. I couldn't ever imagine of having to go to a mates funeral, purely because he didn't feel comfortable enough to talk.

We live in a day in age, where due to the continual rise of social media and other external pressures, the mental health of a high percentage of the world's population, is at an all time low. But, by simply checking in on your neighbours, mates, family members. That one little conversation could well and truely prevent the 'make or break'.

IT AIN'T WEAK TO SPEAK....
