🖼️🎬 FOR OUR BLACK ARTISTS OUT THERE 🎭🎨
The theatre + film industries are slowly creating more versitle roles for us, but for the vast majority, the only options avaiable are an abundance of stereotypical characters with little to no character arc.
How does that make you feel?
What kind of roles do you wish you could play?
Thankfully there’s actors-turned-playwrights like Brian who have identitied this void and are creating new works to fill it. His play “Where the Suga Still Sweet” premieres at No Dream Deferred’s We Will Dream New Works Festival this Spring!

I have been intentionally acknowledging my mental illness on TSAM’s platform for the last few months because it’s honestly all I have had the capacity to focus on at this time. I know it’s one of the most uncomfortable, vulnerable, and difficult things for me to share with others.
I wanted to share this reflection in hopes to look back on it in the future and see how far I've come. I hope this episode will be of influence to anyone here who may be going through similar themes.
Since discharge, my entire livelihood and outlook on life has transformed. I feel like myself again and I have been able to accomplish things that I once thought were unattainable. As of the last week, I feel 100% like myself again. I'm falling in love with music, creating, and my ambition is back.

Our biological clocks have no chill. So what is a millennial to do about having children if they’re not ready? Or they haven’t found the right partner? Or they can barely afford to raise themselves; let alone a child?
These are just some of the questions we explore on this upcoming episode of The Self-Aware Millennial. Keep your eyes peeled for the episode release later this week!!

On this latest episode, I give details on why I wasn’t keeping up with my hygiene during my adolescent years.
Special thanks to my anonymous friend who reported to our high school guidance counselor that I stank, lol
