We had some very generous friends that let us borrow their RV.
was fun to be back in the saddle and we stayed at the most amazing campground called Elk Country that lived up to its name.

A large herd strolled right through the camp ground the 3rd day we were there! Then they enjoyed the grassy area next to our site for the most of the morning. It was so incredible!

This book by should be mandatory reading for any person making the decision to adopt.

It seems to me that the adoption narrative has been dominated by everyone but adoptees for quite awhile. Her story, expertise, honesty, and vulnerability is a gift.

If you supported us with any of our adoptions, or if you are part of an adoptive family, I highly encourage you to read this book.

Oct 2021-Oct 2022 marks one year of using our annual membership!

From Michigan to Colorado, Utah to California we dropped in on as many National Parks that we could find. Each and every one was an unforgettable experience. We live in an incredibly diverse country and we were able to adventure in so many amazing places. So worth the investment!

Ok one thing we noticed right away was that at the gas station before the Yosemites entrance there was this donated (and others) charging station.

We’ve been following .rivet and and were sure that our next Airstream will be towed by an EV.

Since we have in our blood, it would most likely be a new Silverado EV, but we’re happy to see so many companies get into the truck ev space.

A trip to was just what our 4 seasoned bodies were craving!

This was one of the trips we had planned to experience in the airstream, so it get really nice to be able to check it off our list.

Incredible, amazing, and beautiful! We have lots of moments to share.

We finally got around to editing some of the footage from our trip to Canyonlands and Arches when we were in Utah last year. It’s one of our favorite spots for sure!

We’re beginning to feel in our bodies what we knew in our head right before heading into this aluminum tin can of a home.

That it was a slow cooker, a kiln, and giant inst-a-pot pressure cooker for the human soul.

We felt that we were in a wavelength of change before we stepped in, but like a lens it focused that energy even more.

Our kids have meltdowns, yell back at us, even try to hit us from time to time.
Nicole and I loose our cool with each other, get overwhelmed, need breaks.

That’s being human.
That’s being a parent.
Whether you’re in an RV or not.

But thanks to an openness to growth, a desire to heal, and a great couples therapist we are able see all of these challenges as teachers.

Points of pain are opportunities to be curious,
to allow ourselves to feel things we haven’t for awhile.

Grief is not a thing to process as much as it is a thing to be processed by.

When presented with challenges, pain, or hardships we can choose what to do with it, where to go with it. How much of our energy it gets.

Loops of negativity, self critique, blaming outside entities and factors - we can easily get stuck in these downward spirals. But it doesn’t take us where the life is.

If there’s pain or difficulty, fear or failure, try bringing it out of the shadows.

Let yourself be with it for awhile.

Be curious.

Ask it why it’s here.

The path forward will make itself clear.

When we had to put the brakes prematurity on our full time Airstream lifestyle, we knew we wanted to find a way to keep the spirit of adventure alive somehow.

Well now we are right about where we started because a few years back, the first day dream of our travels consistent of finding an old VW camper top EuroVan and hitting the road.

Learning about VW vans sent us down a rabbit hole of researching 4x4 vans in European and Japanese markets, eventually leading us to finding this 1991 Mitsubishi L300 Delica.

It’s like driving an entire parade, a hot wheels car, or the sweetest little monster truck you could imagine. It’s impossible not to smile when cruising down the road in this thing.

Today we took it down to the ocean for a burrito and then a walk on the beach, making a simple day even more of an adventure.

It’s is a funny reminder that life is not just about the destination, but how you get there.

We took oa trip to LA and we made it a point to check out the pop up in Venice beach. Such a good vibe in there and we came home with some swag and inspiration. Africa could be a good place to spend next summer. 😉 🏄🏾‍♂️ 🤙🏽 🏝

“You just can’t do this the wrong way” was the advice we received from a couple we met at a rv park in Flagstaff.

They had been full timing for 4 years and they reminded us that we can always go home, or make a new home wherever we are.

Even the mistakes, the hard days, the kid meltdowns, when the plan goes all wrong - nothing is wasted.

We’re are all just learning to be who we are: as people, as parents, as kids, as employees, as employers, as teachers, as students, as human beings doing things for the first time every day of our lives.

Be present for all of it today.

We have strangers ask questions like these all the time:
❓
“Are they adopted?”
❓
“Did you foster?”
❓
“Are they related?“
❓
“Where did you get them from?”
❓

These are all VERY personal questions for any adoptive family.

Receiving questions like these from is othering, objectifying, and presumptuous.

Imagine seeing a stranger in the grocery store that is in a wheel chair, then walking up to them and saying “so why are you in that?”
🙈 🙊 🙉

We are accustomed to the attention that our family gets and our experience has been that most of these interactions are prompted from kind people who simply don’t understand healthy boundaries and are lacking the proper language to express their curiosity.

As a family we too are drawn to people that appear to break the mold of the culture surrounding us. But one person, or families, story is not owed to anyone else.

You can see an adoptive family, be inspired, remain curious, and not say a single thing to them…

And it might be the best gift you will ever give to that family. 🎁

A year ago we had a dream, set our intention, and finally drove from Nashville to Phoenix to pick up our Airstream.

We were documenting the journey for ourselves first. So we could remember the adventure, the feelings, the stories, the people.

We’ve also hoped to inspire people to make their own dreams come true, and to purse their own version of adventure.

Anything we’ve ever posted in the past has been because we had the free time and energy to do so. Our first priority was to be present and in the moment so we didn’t make this our job. As a result there was so much more that we did, people we met, stories of the ups and down of our adventure that we didn’t share. We will be able to share a bit more now, in some other ways that we are excited about.

Again, it’ll be mostly for our family, so we can remember the stories and people that effected us so much.m, but you’ll all welcome to follow along.

Onto the next adventure!

We’re still waiting on the kids passports, but a night at took us on a trip to France.

Thanks to the whole team there for an amazing experience. Every detail was a delight. From the sommelier, to the young guy filling our water glasses - the entire team communicated calm and care.

Some people just like fancy and expensive things ( and there’s nothing wrong with that), but Nicole and I have always been inspired by experiencing people creating things that they care deeply about. We’ve found this at small music club, or 20,000 seat stadium; a local artist, or the halls of the louvre; your local dive bar, or a fine dinning experience.

We all have something to create or way we can be in the world that can elevate our shared experience, and create more connection.

What ever it is for you do it with curiosity, with generosity, with earnest, and with love. ✌🏽

This Rossi Krewe is enjoying the opposite of most peoples summers plan - We are happily staying in one place.
