Because if nursing is your calling….

You will accept feeling exhausted as the normal

You will justify low pay as being of service

You will feel guilty for wanting more from life

You will stay exactly where you are - overworked and underpaid

They love to tell us nursing is a vocation, so you will accept things that no other profession would..

This tactic takes advantage of your loyalty and makes you feel guilty for wanting more.

I remember always having this little ni**le in my head that wondered
Is this was really it,
is this all what life is,
Is this what the rest of life will look like,
Am I made for more than this?

It doesn’t disappear. But it grows louder the more you ignore it.

One day, I decided to stop wondering “what if?” and just give it a go. And looking back now, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

So if you’re stuck on the fence right now, asking yourself if you should… or shouldn’t… here’s your sign: try.
Worst case? You learn.
Best case? You change your whole life
