Yesterday we had a situation arise that tried to strip the joy from a huge milestone we were celebrating.
Odds are you’ve had something like that happen to you too. What should have been a day to enjoy became a day to endure.
I know there are others who are dealing with the pain of injustice. I want to sow some victorious encouragement into you right now.
When we got some not-so-happy news that threatened our sense of peace, I heard God encourage me in my spirit to “celebrate anyway.”
He then reminded me of a teaching I gave about the power of celebration in 2019 at a women’s conference. This was not some topical teaching (you all know I don’t teach theory). This teaching was a summary of a remarkable journey God was taking me on.
I was very excited to share it. But just days before ministering at this conference our family received devastating news.
I was crushed and I had only a few days to decide if I was still going to still show up and minister.
At first, I felt an enormous pressure to still show up and prove something.
But God swiftly interrupted that destructive thinking.
“Linds, you don’t have to prove anything. This is about me proving something to you.”
Here’s what is so mind-boggling about that statement that I don’t want you to miss. God doesn’t have to prove anything to me. He is who He says He is whether I believe it or not. He’s God! Creator of the universe. He could shut the whole world down tomorrow and no one could stop Him. Yet, He chooses to bind Himself to us in a loving covenant relationship and promises to never leave us nor forsake us. And He continues to gift us with promise after promise to prove His goodness and faithfulness to us.
And I still sometimes falter. All because this puny, already-defeated enemy, satan, comes around with the smoke and mirrors of temporary devastation trying to distract me from the permanent victory I have in Christ. What a joke.
I did show up that weekend. I did teach and min

What’s True About Jesus is True About You - Episode 195
What’s true about Jesus is true about you.
We are living in a victory He won so we can’t lose.
Absence of trouble is not proof of this victory, His permanent presence in us in every trouble is the proof.
Instead of letting your circumstances challenge your identity in Christ, let your identity challenge your circumstances.
