The Relaxation Centre recently set up in Ekenwan Campus is an outdated work that ought to have been done before now. There are bigger and better things we need to put in place so I don't see this as a welcome development - Mo. Amin

I am not happy that ASUU strike was called off because it really affected my plans of wanting to graduate next uear. During the strike, I got a job and was at a comfortable state so I really would have preferred the strike stayed till next year - Jay

This is one of the things we've always hoped to see happen in EKCITY and we are glad to see it come to pass. A Relaxation Centre is currently under commencement as the days of finding it hard to get a soothing venue to stay and cool off is gradually coming to a close. We appreciate the school management and the "New Dawn Executives" SUG excos for this and we hope to see more happen in EKCITY!

On the 28 day of October, 2021 JULIANA MARTIN AKPAETTE in the company of Niger Delta Students in Tertiary institutions shortlisted for the batch to have held on the 27th and 28th of October 2021 workshop on the new Petroluem Industrial Act (PIA) due to breach of agreement on the part of the NPDC with respect to the rules of engagement of the workshop, arrived at the NPDC office for a meeting fixed for the above date to resolve the contending issues between the management of the NPDC and the students shortlisted for the workshop with the view of foreseeing a common ground.

Unfortunately Juliana Martin Akpaette and her colleagues were barred from gaining entrance to the NPDC on the orders of the NPDC Management for inexplicable reasons. Due to heavy rain fall, she and her colleagues sort shelter under the security post of the NPDC chanting solidarity song in an orderly and peaceful manner.

No sooner had she and her colleagues expressed their civilized right of the above shenanigans of NPDC Officials, a team of Police attached to the Counter Terrorist Unit ( CTU) State Criminal Investigation Department (S.C.I.D) Edo state police headquarters led by D.S.P Odagboyi Emmanuel (the man in the attached photograph, wearing blue shirt) arrived in the scene on the invitation of the NPDC Management, in an hostile and aggressive manner started firing gunshots directly at the students. In the process JULIANA MARTIN AKPAETTE was hit by the bullet released from the gunshot of DSP Odagboyi Emmanuel.

The NPDC Management have failed to take responsibility of their actions after making promises to the students when they visited her on 2nd of November 2021 at University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

It’s more than a month now and NPDC has failed to respond or even reach out to the poor innocent girl that almost lost her life at NPDC Ogba, Edo State.

The young lady have been abandoned and she is currently going through physical and mental Trauma.

On Friday, Nov. 26th, 2021, a 500LT building was commissioned in Ekenwan Campus of the University of Benin, giving their thoughts on this new development and their expectations of future acts, students of the campus had this to say 👇

"I applaud the Vice Chancellor for commissioning this 500LT building. It is a kind gesture but this doesn't stop us from stating what we want from the school management. For instance, we need more ATM here in Ekenwan Campus, more relaxation parks... - Busuyi Ojo (Jobus)

UNIBEN STUDENTS GIVE SAD REMARK OVER THE NEGATIVE EFFECT THE ONGOING SPORTS FESTIVAL HAS HAD ON THEM
..School hostels shouldn't be used when school is still in session, it's a stupid move...

The sports festival has made a lot of students staying far away homeless, especially those who don't have where to go, where to stay and those who don't even have relatives around benin.

UNIBEN STUDENTS IN EKENWAN CAMPUS CRY OUT OVER HARSH CONDITION BIRTHED ON THEM DURING EXAM PERIOD

"...At night, there will be light in the hostels but none in DPA 1 and 2. So, if you do not have a torch, you cannot read in the classrooms...
We need more toilets and bathrooms in the hostel. We have in total just six bathrooms and six toilets for 120 people in a block. How are we to survive?"
