Each day, just figure out the next best action to take. By putting one foot in front of each other, you’ll get to where you’re going. ❤️

I recently met someone who got engaged and started a family at 40. She sheepishly made a comment that she'd done these things "late" because she'd spent the past 2 decades building her business.

From a biological perspective, sure - women have a very real window for childbearing. But all I could see was this woman who’d found her dream partner and built an adorable family during a time that made perfect sense for her life.

Nothing late, just right on time. 💫

In entrepreneurship, the concept of an overnight success is loudly celebrated. Getting bigger & faster QUICKLY is the name of the game. But there is no such thing as an "overnight success." Behind these stories are Founders who tried and stumbled many times before their time came around.

Building anything good and worthy takes time. And patience. I know, SO hard to practice. 😬

Trust that everything in your life is unfolding as it should for YOU. The only way to fall "behind" or fail is to stop trying. ❤️

The internet makes it seem like entrepreneurship is a glamorous experience with a quick path to riches.

It can certainly be fruitful, but the truth is that business ownership is tough at times. And it requires a lot of patience, grit, & faith.

The secret to success in anything is showing up & doing the work. On the good days, the bad days, & all the mundane days in between. ❤️

Entrepreneurship is often glamorized & romanticized on social media, but the reality is the opposite.

Sure, there are perks such as having more flexibility in your schedule & having the opportunity to do work that is meaningful to you; however there is also a lot of, well, work.

Having a plan, being super organized and learning when to delegate tasks to others can make life easier. Still, there are no shortcuts to success.

Working hard doesn't mean you have to burn yourself out or be miserable. It means that you have to consistently put action behind your intentions in order to to achieve your goals.

A little hard work has never hurt anyone. Let's get after it, ladies. 💪🏾

On Juneteenth, I spent some time reflecting on why I started Pithaya, where I want to take it, and ways we can better serve our community.

I think in the business world we tend to heavily focus on the “hard” or quantitative aspects without recognizing the importance that mental health and community play in an entrepreneur's success. Entrepreneurs are more prone to depression, and women entrepreneurs cite "building a support system" as their top non-operational challenge. For too many entrepreneurs, the cost of pursuing their dream is their emotional health. It doesn’t have to be that way.

I created Pithaya to form a community where women solopreneurs and entrepreneurs can find emotional support while they navigate the ups and downs of business ownership. Pithaya started as a Meetup group in 2022 and over the course of 100+ events, I've heard from dozens of our members how the group has become their go-to place for support.

These experiences have shaped the next iteration of our business. Our team is hard at work building our proprietary platform where women entrepreneurs can easily connect with each other, attend events that help them foster meaningful relationships, and gain access to resources that support their personal and business growth (more to come soon!).

As a Black and Latina woman, my vision for Pithaya - to advance the lives of women through entrepreneurship and community - is personal.

Black and Latina women are the fastest growing groups of entrepreneurs in the US, yet in 2021 they received roughly 1% of funding. Women and especially women of color face a host of unique challenges beyond their businesses' operations. Confronting biases, grappling with imposter syndrome, and navigating systemic barriers are just a few of the things that women entrepreneurs face every single day.

Pithaya may not have the power or influence to change all of these things for our members, but we've created the space to support them on their journey. ❤️

Our crowdfunding campaign is LIVE today!

About a year ago, Pithaya started as a concept on Meetup when our Founder set out to form a support system for herself.

Today, the group is comprised of hundreds many incredible women business owners, and according to our 4.99 rating the experience has been uplifting and encouraging.

Over time, we've recognized that there's a bigger need for our community and identified more things can do to help women entrepreneurs thrive.

We need our own platform to take it to the next level by providing a better user experience and reaching even more women entrepreneurs.

Any level of support is appreciated - and if you're not in a position to donate, please help us spread the word. Thank you!

We’ve been hearing a lot about lucky girl syndrome - the idea that you can manifest anything in life simply by thinking positively & saying daily affirmations.

We’re not here to debate whether it works or not, but there’s something to be said about creating your own luck. Or at least putting yourself in the best position to seize the opportunities that come your way.

How we set ourselves up to be lucky?

Working hard, staying true to ourselves, & taking chances. ❤️🍀
