Bend Teacher arrested for having s*xual relations with a student.
Appalling.
LA PINE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER ARRESTED FOR S*X ABUSE OF FORMER STUDENT
Location: 54000 block of Tamarack Rd, Bend
Arrested: Parker, Deborah, Age: 55, Bend, Oregon
Victim: Male, 17 years of age at the time of incident.
Charges: S*x Abuse II (8 counts)
In May 2020, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the University of Oregon. The report was from subject wanting to report a teacher from La Pine High School having a s*xual relationship with a former student while he was attending La Pine High School.
Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to locate and interview the former student regarding the report. The former student disclosed multiple incidents of s*x abuse involving Parker while he was a minor student attending La Pine High School during the 2010-2011 school year.
Based on statements from the former student and witness information, detectives were granted a search warrant for Parker and her residence. Detectives were able to collect corroborating evidence and statements.
On May 29, 2020 Parker was contacted at her residence and taken into custody on the above mentioned charges. Parker was lodged in the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the reporting person and the former student for the courageous act of coming forward and sharing this information with law enforcement.
