"Writing (and reading) gives me the space to escape reality for sometime and just not worry about anything important. It allows me to express myself and help process my deep emotions, when it comes to writing poetry. And in my short stories or longer narratives, I feel like I can live and experience my desires and wants through my writing; having characters do the things that I would be way too scared to do in real life."
